I like a good old Sony bashing. Would you believe in this day and age that ACID offers:

1. NO synth automation (well there is if you can be bothered to work out what c.c. each parameter is assigned to.)

2. No midi control of effects.

3. A 5 minute wait before the plugin browser loads and then a 5 minute wait before the plugin loads.

4. A bug that causes fx presets to change randomly.

5. Only one audio/midi loop per track.

But at least we have the media manager! Yay! (I just lurrve rearranging my audio loops.)

Check out the comparison between ACID Music Studio 6 and ACID Pro 5. Spot the difference? Pro is over 5 times the price for not a lot more features. Pro 6 better be good!

I moved to Tracktion after version 4 and never looked back. Acid still gets some use when I need to chop up loops or for the occasional remix but Tracktion makes much more sense to me. Does acid still pop up that big annoying dialog when you try to record?

I moved to Live after V.4 of ACID as well. I can't wait to see what ACID has to offer...probably not much anymore.

Acid 6 will probably be announced. Be interesting to see if Sony finally manages to kill it completely.

Actually its going to be version 6.66 and will install the rootkit from hell and require users to sign an contract not to use pirated material in blood

Don't forget the pointless database software that you have to install 3 times before you can turn it off in Preferences.
