This is great. Now we can all blame Steinberg for the problems experienced with every other sequencer as well...

The fun never stops! :?

Steinberg could make the best sequencer in the world and sell it at $50, I still wouldn't buy it for two reasons: the above and the dongle :hihi:

But really, I'm happy with FL6 right now ... and hope to help chase out so that hes happy too (more DnB! more DnB! Yaay!)
I can accept that Cubase (and Steinberg's philosophy on copy-protection) isn't your cup 'o tea, but claims like the above seem wholeheartedly absurd...

My dishwasher leaks... Damn that Steinberg coding...
I've run out of room in my closet... Damn Cubase to hell...
I can't fit into my old jeans... Must be Steinberg's fault...
Except that arke's reason makes sense...
You're absolutely right Chase...

You'd best uninstall anything with the Steinberg logo on it...

It's coded by terrorists I heard.

Cubase Fanboy Alarm!

For those of us that don't shit money and only have basic soundcards, Steinberg products tend to f**k the audio drivers. Simple as that, can't even argue. Guess they think if you can spend the ridiculous amount of money on Cubarse you might as well buy a better audio card along with it.

Did FL v5 have the HTML Background feature?

Yep ... I once posted to KVR with it :P

Oh well... so much for that theory.

What I dont understand is WHY they f**ked with the core audio engine. NO ONE was having problems with it? Now if you look at loop talk and the technical forums, a bunch of people are flipping out with problems (granted some of mine are unique). I wish they would just offer the option to run all audio JUST like FL5...maybe the new mixer wouldnt permit it for some reason? Obviously i really know nothing about programming, but forealz, im banging my head over this.

Wish I could offer some good advice! Maybe it's time for a clean wipe on your system just to get you into a neutral zone? I dread that day on my system as the sample sets I use would take literally a couple days to reinstall, not to mention all the serial number hunting and hoop jumping for other stuff.

Bummer Chase. I hope for the best.
Sorry if this is too simple: In FL5 I used the "use hardware buffer" setting in audio properties, but in fl6, this created some distinct crackling/overruns. Deselecting it put me back to where I was in fl5, at a lower latency.
..what goes around comes around..

I love FL Studio, but I think ImageLine has stuffed up with FL6. They've failed to deliver to their usual standard and have damaged their reputation.

After quite a bit of stuffing about I seem to have got FL6 stable and largely crackle-free. But it took some work and imho remains inferior to v5.

Whatever the cause, too many people are having problems with v6. And for what ? No discernable audio benefits at all ! :(

It's like that with a lot of software though. A pinnacle is reached (ala 5.02c) and all that can be done to shift more product/upgrades to people who already own the last version is "change" things, not improve them, as no real improvements can be nor need to be made.

I downloaded the 6.03 demo and it was horrible, although many things remained the same, there was not one thing to gain that i felt was worth sacrificing the stability and reliability that 5.02c offered. And since i am running the demo of 5.02c, i guess i'll never be able to buy it now (or am i wrong?...can i buy a license and just apply it to 5.02c?)

A clean OS doesn't help, at least it hasn't here. I haven't got as many issues with FLS 6 as some people, but it's not as good/smooth/trouble free as FLS 5. I can recreate a .flp originally done in FLS 5, in FLS 6 and the difference in performance is marked > cpu usage/pops'n'clicks/etc.
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

Yeah, I've opened numerous ver5 projects and something just ain't right. And nothing has changed on my system other than there's more mp3s on it and some more graphics files accumulated.

Since it looks like you're using free plugins for the most part ... if you trust me enough not to steal your stuff I can export things for you until it works again for you. If you want ... pm me :)

I had pops and crackling in FL6 until I unchecked the 'Always resample 44.1k <-> 48k' option in Asio4All, which was needed in FL5 to get the conexant card on my laptop to run properly.

Latency is now 'much' lower. As for other stuff, I haven't had the chance to play with it too much yet.
Chugga says "Turn it up!!!"
For extra epointz - quote "ChuggaChugga" :D

i have had enormous CPU problems and occasional crackling issues w/6

Unfortunately for me, I just bought 6 the day after it came out :(

I wanna go back to 5. I don't understand how making the mixer scrollable and adding some shortcuts to the playlist justify this bad upgrade
