I definately gave Sonar a good test run beforehand. In fact, I really like its MIDI support, and the Piano Roll is nice, even if I do miss a few features from other places.advaya wrote: I dunno about that. Sonar is a pretty capable MIDI sequencer in it's own right. Both can achieve pretty much the same results (though the process might be somewhat different).
Perhaps the piano roll and step recorder are a little more robust in Cubase, but Sonar certainly has it's appeal in that dept. too.
But if here had been a Cubase demo, then I might've felt more at home with Cubase. As it is, I know nothing about Cubase, aside from a few tutorials on the net and some rather vague workflow descriptions on the Steinberg website. I wonder if any highstreet music shops get given Steinberg demos? They used to a few years back.
