yeah... :)
Those were the days alrighty, 4-tracks on 1/8" tape. 1/32" per track! Ever see a 8-track cassette? (1/64"?)
Never used one myself but highly regarded at the time... You ever hear 'Your Woman' by White Town (UK no.1 about ten years ago). That was recorded on 8-track cassette...

I am glad you did it, because i wouldn't have done a very good job of it.
cheers, tom :)
You are more that welcome. Enjoy! I've got the two-track master-deck running now. The idea is that you can do a mix on the 4trk then mix-down to 2 on the stereo-deck and never leave your vst-host. It's going to work. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

I  SE! Now I want to build an 8-track :D
This looks really cool! An 8-track version would be even better! Imagine those programs that can't multitrack but can host VSTs -- they can now multitrack as well. :-) The idea puts a smile on my face. This is a really cool idea! By the way, I put my VST(i)s on a separate drive with my samples and soundfonts and midi-loops and regular loops and, and, and.... you get the point. Anyway, I keep all of my stuff on a separate drive, and point each of my programs to this separate drive (keeps everything nice and clean and accessable for all my apps). I was wondering.... did you make the install and recording paths configurable or are they still hard coded? Thanks again for the great work!

This should work. Press the new 4-Track button in the master section, select Setup and the thing should flip over to reveal a block of file access boxes. Click Setup select 4-track to return.

You may have to find the samples before anything else works right but you should be able to put it where you want.

o added a new page
o added file dialog for samples
o scaled meters
o removed some loose junk
o fixed record input level adjust (It did nothing! )
o and other stuff

Tom, I had a similar problem with a prefab I developed for Jack Dark. If you change all the text files that list the file locations to "\track1.wav" instead of the full "c:\blah\blah\blah\track1.wav" and then the files should be created in the same folder as the sem/sep files and you shouldn't need to load/find them. Unfortunately you can't test the plug inside SE with these settings, you have to revert to the full file path. You can get around this by using DH's text switch or you can create a switch using KDL's modules.

Also doing this would mean you wouldn't need to include the wav files, they would be created as needed.

If you want any help or want me to send you any prefabs to show how this works, just send me a PM. :)

Thank you! I would really like to see your fix but I think I'm going to leave this as is. I like that you can name tracks whatever you want without having to rename/save Track1 over and over if you want to keep them.

What's your email adress? I can send you an example prefab showing how to save to the folder. Do you have Dave Haupt's subcontrol packs? The simplest version requires his packs but I also have a slightly more complex version that uses free modules (you can thank Jack Dark for forcing me into working out how to do this with free modules!).

It also has a safety feature that stops any problems with files trying to be read before they are written: The play button disappears when you press record and vice versa.

Thanks,i always hoped someone will do such multitrack and
the gui's are stunning,better for inspiration 8)
But it would be better to control from keyboard's shortcuts.I tried it with Savihost and made a standalone
from it,but i can't have asio in inputs,it's a shame :?

Hi Tomg,

I really appreciate your great work on these. I just downloaded the plugins, and noticed that there are WAV files included. I also am not sure what some of the buttons do. Is there any possibility that even a very simple documentation could be included? It wouldn't need to be much, just a text file with installation and simple usage instructions and an explaination of what the buttons do. It would be really appreciated. Thanks!
