jorgen wrote:no, you can route midi effects any way you like. modular in the main window, or as in-place insert effects on midi tracks in the sequencer.rokkon wrote:If i combine everything I read about XT2, I understand midi processing plugin networks are not possible any longer? Just serial chains?

jorgen wrote:The mixer has full drag and drop. So you can do stuff like move effect from insert to send, copy from send to insert, re-arrange, duplicate and of course drag effects from browser into the mixer's send and insert slot.
All inserts have dry/wet control
If a VST comp is routed to lets say 3 other comps, there will be 3 level controls on the mixer strip that look like the send controls (this is not visible by default).
The mixer does not offer features like Senderella.

Re Dropdown lists
on 22 April, Jorgen wrote:in xt2 you can use ctrl + wheel over the dropdown to browse presets without opening the dropdown box first. All controls in xt2 has this ctrl + wheel support.

jorgen wrote:Yes, you can automate on/off as well as volume, pan, mute, solo in xt2 from midi, audio and envelope tracks. Note that xt2 will bypass "silent" inserts and sends effects automatically, so you may not have to automate it in the first place.bbtr wrote:Hi!
Wanted to ask if it's possible to automate on/off for VSTs in the Main Mixer or in a Sequencer. From inside eXT, by using envelopes or something, without external tools.
Some VSTs use quite a lot CPU, even when they're silent, you know.![]()
Couldn't find the answer in the docs or sort it out by myself.

jorgen wrote:XT2 has many track modes and it does makes sense: meter, tempo, folder, midi, audio, drum and envelope.
BUT, In addition midi and audio tracks has clip based automation included. Screenshot below shows a single MIDI clip with 3 automation envelopes.

A bit of clarification on the above:
jorgen wrote:xt2 is kind of multiclip mode though, as you can have both midi and automation or audio and automation in single clips...

xt2 has both single clip (one sample) and multi-clip (group of samples like in v1.3) audio parts.

bmanic wrote:- Can we now drag and drop wave files to and from VST plugins (FL Studio at least supports this. I'm sure several other hosts do it too)?
- Can we drag and drop (both copy and move) wave files from the different comps into one another?
- Can we select a part of an audio file (by marking it in the audio editor) and then simply drag the selection into a sequencer audio track?
- Can we drag and drop midi clips into the browser (this would automatically save that midi clip as .mid file)?
- Can we drag .mid files from the browser to a midi track (creating a midi clip, or in the case of multiple channels, several midi clips on separate tracks)?
- Can we drag and drop (both move and copy) effects plugins from the sequencer mixer on to the main modular area? What about vice versa?
- Can we drag and drop both audio and midi clips from one sequencer to another?
- Can we drag and drop audio clips onto the sampler? What about vice versa?

Referring to the Ubuntu screenshot, jorgen wrote:they can be stacked (see midi track) or "overlay" (see audio track). The third button on the track toggles between stack and overlay...plastique wrote:Neat automation lanes as well.
Somehow defines "overview" with a new meaning![]()
