The two slim slow slider gates are quite useable in fact.
The problem with them is the tihy little GUI and the small fiddly rotary knobs.
Imho there is still a big sonic difference between software and good hardware, but it should not be that hard to code for someone as experienced as Aleksey or Torben.
My favorite atm is the Sonitus, ymmv.
But I'd buy a really good gate on the spot.
Even more so if a dynamic filter were included ...

Apart from the first poster that is :)

What's wrong with the Sonitus one? - it seeems to have everything in the list - even sidechaining. And it's cheap.

moore ofthen then most of us change our underwear but never decides to release a flexible gate plugin?
Now, Kjaerhus releases 2-4 plugins a year so I would not like to be in your underwear :hihi:

If there is a genuine demand for such a plugin we would not mind making one.

i'm quite happy with the sonitusFX:gate (now distributed by cakewalk). good stuff, really.

however, i wouldn't mind looking into a new gate if it's got something "fresh" to offer.

 Nice one!

btw. Your gate from GAC-1 is actually one of the best so far to my ears, just lacks a bit more control and it's an overkill with 2xEQ and 2xcomps, so I have to use Goldengate for that nice industrial gated drums... there's definitely lack of a nice gate plugin on the market. I'd like to see yours or Aleksey's gate, too :D.

Gate from GAC-1 with more pots + 1xComp + maybe 1xEQ [not really necessary], but better with 1xlimiter at the end could be your next treat? GAG-1? :D [no pun intended...] :D. So it would be a Gate/Comp/Limiter plug, like some real hardware ones.

Cheers!

Well, the StateSpace or whatever term alone means additional 150 dollars to the price :P

Don't really know what they were thinking, a friggin' gate plugin that'll cost and arm and a leg and provide... a gate.

I bet even Kingston and bManic will pass it at that price ;)

But then again, the good old "I can't hear the difference so the higher asking price must be a ripoff" attitude seems to be reigning again...

Anyways, glad to see Aleksey is on the case now.
Now available with added Inherently Suspect Justification!

btw, something i really miss in the gate's out there are host synced envelope times.
