Me either arke. I've always had very good luck with FL which is part of the reason I love it so much. I hope that when I eventually DO upgrade (it will be the winter of 07' I think after the wedding) I don't have any issues. I have faith in IL that all will be well.

I have lost projects and had crashes in every version of FL Studio. I've lost songs in Orion. The only app that performs solid on my computer has been SX2.
Even lost a cool thing I was working on in FL yesterday; it wasn't even in the trash thing..no big loss as it was really just a learning project, but still a pisser.

That sucks. I hope that it's sorted out eventually.

You say you keep your computer cleaner than a dolphins anus :) Does this include a regular defragmentation schedule for your audio disk(s)?

MINDYOU, he did a complete plugin update maybe amonth or two ago for the lot, and I haven't had any problems with them since I updated them.
GVST just updated 3 days ago. just to mention...
The Chase, I hope you get it sorted.
Thanks for that bit, that would be the second time then, in recent months.

This was a pretty big update for FL. I equate this years' whole FL6 series with an initial release, where you wait to get version 1.1. before things are working exceptionally well. Think about all the new crap they added with Directwave, mixer enhancements, chrome, plugins like envelope controller, bla bla bla... this had to be the biggest single series update yet (Since FL3 ?).

I think FL5 was pretty sharp, because it was the finishing touch on FL4. FL6 is a slightly newer model whose sheen will finally show in FL7... and that's the 1.1 version I'm waiting for as far as the next most stable generation is concerned. :D Patience.

you know, i have had that random butchering of unsuspecting .fls files since i very first started using fruityloops. I have never heard a satisfactory explanation for it. I gave up a long time ago ever getting one. So, i just try to remember to back up anything that starts sounding interesting, or risk losing it. I suppose that is pretty standard for anything you do with a computer; oh well.
i just wish that in the midst of a creative rush i could remember to back up more often

Yeah, none of the IL Staff have ever offered a satidfactory explanation for randomly corrupted flps. I'mn sure that some of them have got to do with pc issues, plugins, etc, but there's got to be a common cause, as so many people have had the same issue (albeit totally nonreproducable).

It happened to me more when I saved as .zip.
I have a hairtrigger ctrl-N finger now, which has saved me in most cases, thus far..

Hm. As we speak about that sometimes i have same problems(had one few days ago). Something like i have 75% finished project. With lot VSTs and effects. I load something like Reaktor, save song and next time that same project wont load and i can wait till death. Only what i can see is something lik "locating artsacoustic.dll". Ok i remove arstacoustic from system (bare in mind that same artsacoustic reverb WORK in every single FL project to that one) and next time i have "locating classicdelay.dll" and system freeze......ok then i remove classicdelay.dll then i have "locating xxxxxx.dll" and that can go forever.

Fast scan adn verify plugins dont work here. Then i install those plugs again. i remove FL studio. Install it again and that stupid project is loading. And is working for day or two then i have same error and everything is going back again. But only on this one project. It seems that sometimes something goes wrong in FLP file and you cant do anything to it. So it is wise to save more different files.

Probably it is good to say that with Cubase SX 3 i have zero problems...

My personal theory about the whole trashed fl files thing is that it has something to do with buggy 3rd party plugs shitting all over ram and saving the project while the cpu is throwing up during playback. I've never had that happen unless i was pushing my cpu and had that "oh shit" moment where I know I better save before fl crashes, you can't really stop playback while fl is going nuts sometimes.

Of course I'm but a humble moron with too much imagination...................

i don't think i've ever had a corrupted flp in around 2½ years (since I began using fl),
but fl 6 has been crashing several times on me and that tends to be mildly annoying.
when i scan and verify for plugins for instance, and click the scrollbar afterwards, i get an error.

It seemed that most of the crashes I had in FL6 were after scrolling or clicking on a scrollbar. I have gotten sudden CPU spikes in FL5 when using the scrollbar in the piano roll or playlist.
