hi there, here a little update to the further development of "EffectChainer".
main changes (already implemented):
- added a "Load VST" option to select and add a vst dll via dialog
- all editors are opened now modeless, so it is possible to open and edit several plugs at the same time and also can edit the chainer without closing the editor windows.
- the vst version has now 4 programs. each of it can be used to load and manage a seperate chain. in addition you can save / load programs and banks as .fxp and .fxb files
- the installer asks now where to install the vst version of "EffectChainer"
yet to do:
- save / load chains as user-presets (dx version only)
- decide and implement a way for delay compensation
after realizing the remaining stuff and internal testing we will upload the new version.

Triple WoW! Used this to load DX plugs in Energy XT.
Mouse over effects chainer causes audio glitching/cpu spikes
Some Dx plugin's do not reopen correctly
Most important, Please continue development.
Thank You

@MRT
hm didn't expect that the mouse move causes large cpu spikes or even audio glitching.
i will have a look at this.
can you describe what is not reopened correctly and which plugs you've used.
thx

When moving the mouse around over the chainer GUI, I would get the glitching. Seemed to be the worst if you passed over the area that displays the currently racked plugin. Seemed to be connected to the font change from regular to italicized in the display?
Timeworks compressor is one of the plugs that opened correctly the first time. but if I closed it and reopened it there was only a (what seems to be)standard plugin box with nothing inside.
I seem to recall a couple of the ultrafunk sonitis plug doing this also.
Cakewalk and Sony Dx plugins seemed to be correct.
Hope this helps

@newbie brad
found the problems with mobius and fixed them. Should work now from EffectChainer release 0.2Beta correctly.

@mrt
the editor windows in the next "EffectChainer" version are opened modeless. this should eliminate reopening problems (tested with Timeworks compressor).
i also optimized the mouse moving. this should avoid cpu spikes and audio glitches

- all editors are opened now modeless, so it is possible to open and edit several plugs at the same time and also can edit the chainer without closing the editor windows.
- most of the windows within "EffectChainer" are now opened as "TooLWindows" with a smaller title
- the title of the editor window displays by now also the index and the name of the associated plug
- "Close Editors" function in options menu (right mouse) to close all opened editors
- the vst version has now 4 programs. each of it can be used to load and manage a seperate chain. in addition you can save / load programs and banks as .fxp and .fxb files

Thanks in advance, downloading now. Please makes chains saveable as presets in VST version as well as DX version (if they are not already so).

In my quest to get more plugins working on a flash drive, is there any way of having a version that I can just copy to my plugins folder? In other words, are the registry entries REQUIRED for this to work right? It would be a great addition to my "mobile studio".
Thanks!
Brent
