I have a Power Mac G5 Quad Core, and I can't hear it - completely silent (except for some exceptional crazy operations that suddenly turn turbines on). What Jumbo are you talking about?
No Core Audio overloads, either - using a MOTU 2408 MkIII with PCIe card

Core Audio ffffftt, ASIO is the thing, Core Audio as if i haven't enough with WDM

Stag,

Are you familiar with the way Core Audio works? I have no desire to enter into a OSX vs Windows debate, but Core Audio actually uses fewer passes of information than ASIO, it is like a direct link between the Software and the Audio interface. At the very least it is on par with ASIO, and this is being generous, it is not WDM.

Man at the same sample size you get lower latencies on a crappy PC, that's all i need to know.
No need for superior(cof-cof-bull-cof)OS and hardware.

you should have heard my dual 2.7.. that's a flock of jumbo jets taking of ..several times per minute

reason for the synchronised take off: I was resizing a window

how stupid I was, I should have known that 'resizing a window' is just too much to ask from a computer. Although in all fairness, sometimes I was also checking email

Well, the press announcement of Cubase 4 gets a two-page spread in the new Computer Music magazine, out in the UK shops today.
