Not quite right. Genetics has been available on all instruments, native and VSTi, for some time. I think the last of the internal generators got it at around v6. Now it also works for effects, although I doubt that it would work usefully on too many.Glassback wrote:Just to expand on this a little - genetics has always been available in Orion for VSTi's, but not Orions onboard synths. Now it is. I always wondered why it wasn't so this is a logical fix imo.vurt wrote:runagate wrote:I've never seen Orion before but I was just wondering what this is:

I think that this will help me more than anything. I like starting in Orion and eventually exporting to Sonar. Sometimes I would get some cool things going in a track and it would not export quite the same.- Midi Import & Export supports now all CC#s and Aftertouch
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

im afraid my inferior mind needs a little more info, perhaps just why you would suggest that?
fraid i aint too knowledgable on hardware in general
could that be used as a controller to morph between vst presets too? or just its own?

The CS1x [and maybe the AN1x too] has a "scene" morphing feature. You can set up two "scenes" for any preset, so the signal path is the same [oscillator waveform, filter type, etc] but the parameter settings themselves can be different. There are buttons for Scene 1 and Scene 2 and if you press both at once you can use the mod wheel to morph between them. It is a very cool performance feature. I'm actually putting my CS1x up on ebay this weekend but its too big to ship overseas so you can't have it.
