i think the only think you can say about what hip hop looks for is two turtables and a microphone. anything beyond that is bonus tools to extend the art, but without two turntables and a microphone, whatever 'host' or other shit you got ain't really gonna matter. hip hop forever baby.

this thread fuckin' sucks by the way. shame on this thread.

"Taste quantizing" would be a good DAW feature for Hip-Hop producers.

imagine for a moment that you said that but you didn't really have any idea about what you were talking about, imagine that you just stumbled onto a thread and for some reason something in that thread compelled you to be duragatory. imagine that often you looked down at your own penis and felt like life might be just a little different if you had just a little more in stock down there but you're a musician, a creative thinker... it should be easy to mask such feeling with tech talk.

well imagine that you weren't so spiteful and that one day you woke up and didn't actualy define hiphop with your very own personal definition of 'bling and diamond encrusted chains around peoples necks' but a musical definition where your own ideas about the subject weren't lumped together in blanket statements that mean nothing, as if you actualy knew what hiphop was
then upon gaining such knowledge you might go out and try an mpc and learn that wow, the workflow is much much faster for a samplist, , you'd say to yourself 'double wow, thats wow wow
when you found out that you can sample, slice, and sequence audio faster on an mpc than in any software from ableton Live to anything else, this is a fact. then you'd think well this must be an important factor to 'SAMPLIST'= people who make their living and more money than i do sampling and sequencing samples!

imagine that.
Trouble is, see, I have no imagination whatsoever.

Which makes it strange that I'm not into hiphop. :?

No it's not fact. It's your opinion. Might even be your experience. my experience is that MPCs weren't conducive to anything for me. As weren't any of the h/w samplers I've owned. I much prefer s/w samplers (not that I actually use them that much nowadays). But I'm not a dick enough to say it's a known fact. For my use, s/w is so much easier. I can tell you as a fact that I find it easier to sample, slice and sequence audio on any software from Ableton Live to anything else. Go figure?

I hate dumb people.
Yep that would be a typo. They hope for hipps.

nope you're wrong, it's not my opinion its a fact. i'm not talking about whats conducive, i'm not talking about what's faster and it is a simple fact that sampling slicing mapping samples and sequencing is faster in the mpc, there are less steps less prep, and more imediacey. my favorite thing in the world is ableton Live and to turn on live, arm track record clip, transfer clip to arrange view control e a million times for however many slices you want all the while not slicing by transients so for each slice you must zoom in and figure out what you want, then slice then load an instrument in which to drop the samples or drag them back to the session view and apply correct triggering parameters and don't even get into assigning to your controller.

the mpc does all of this much faster its a fact and if you didn't like when you tried the mpc that's fine, I didn't like my first mpc i was like wtf is this and got rid of it a week later and got into ableton Live but that's not what we're talking about. the mpc (not every hardware sampler) but the mpc IS... faster.
so imagine you weren't bullshitting and if you don't like hiphop then wtf are you doing in the thread.

LMAO, D@mn, that $hit is great! hahah

Well the mpc is faster for certain people, there are no facts about this, no proof, only workflow prefrences.

I had an mpc2000, and I found it much slower at chopping samples than my Zoom sampletrak wich can be had for less than $100 used(not mine :) ).

The 2000 was a pain to chop with compared to the software I use now.

Who cares what a bunch of morons producing Hip Hop think anyway?

Not going to get very far without anything to play on your decks, though I suppose you could beatbox.
