Hey,
I was trying to make a 'controller map' for Reason but can't get it to show up in the list of surfaces you can select from and I'm SURE I have it in the right place. Anyone with experience with Reason control maps?

Hi,
I've just finished a complete Reason's Remote map for Edirol PCR-X00 series... if you're interested, you can get it here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/30692675/PCRRM.zip.html
It includes a sort of a "hybrid" control map so you can make the most out of the pads... the 8 leftmost pads act like buttons and the 10 rightmost pads sends notes, with velocities and assignable aftertouch - useful when used with Redrum and Combinator perc patches. Obviously, if you're not happy with the mapping, you can redo it your own way... all the controls, apart from the pads, are mapped accordingly to the PCR's control map number 0.
Hope it helps...

I've read this thread with great interest. I need to know details of the PCR-300's control maps, and Roland support has promised to "look into" posting them on their site.Meanwhile, I'm particularly eager for the details of map 0, a map which I *assume* (like on the PCR-30) cannot be edited. Thanks very much to BlackHoleSettle for his Reason 3 map, from which I got all the controller assignments except for the touchpads.
Could someone please list the touchpad assignments, and verify that all the other Reason 3 map assignments indeed correspond to control map 0?
And if anyone knows where PCR-300 maps may *currently* be available on the web, I'd sure appreciate the info.
(Actually, I've been busy developing a comprehensive set of MCU emulation scripts (under MIDIOx) for a wide variety of control surfaces, and would like to include the PCR-300/500/800 series. What I've done so far is at my site: www.arthunkins.com/articles.htm (http://www.arthunkins.com/articles.htm)
Thanks much -

I'm not sure what you mean...
The Remote map I did was designed to be used simultaneously with the Control map (for the keyboard) included in the zip file. And it does map *all* the controls on the keyboard...
From the way you described your problem, it seems to me that you forgot this part...?

Thanks for the quick reply, BlackHoleSettle. My project actually has nothing specific to do with Reason, nor does it deal with either the computer or MIDI keyboard. It is designed to implement the *non-DAW-specific controls* of the MCU on the BCR-300 (and 500 and 800) only. (The script will thus be useful for *any* DAW that has an MCU interface.)
I'm doing this with VBScripts in MIDIOx, and all I need is the factory control map 0 for the BCR-300.
I believe I have all the factory assignments for map 0 from the Reason 3 map you nade available (thanks). I *think* all I need still is the *factory touchpad assignments*.
Could you send them on?
Thanks so much.

Edirol controllers are absolute garbage. I bought one a couple years ago, 2 knobs or sliders didn't work on it. Sent it back, the new one that came had the same problem but with different knobs..... total pain in the ass to deal with, and completely unacceptable.
I'm happy as a Pig in manure w/my Novation Remote LE 49.
Stay away from Edirol. Crap.
