I really want a right click on selection to save as a .wav

I am a part time sound designer and this would be a HUGE process enhancer for me.
Some sort of way to apply a crossfade loop to a sample would be a great help too.

Also selecting a sound from a track to edit in place with an external application would save XT the burden of being an audio editor. I'd like to edit just the one occurrence (and all it's ghosts) if I select it in the sequencer and edit it at a project level if I select it in the audio pool, and edit it at a permanent OS level if I select it in the browser.

I prefer this than the 'multi mode' route (what you mean by pattern mode?) because everything is cleanly contained in a clip that you can move around easily.
It's the pattern based part of multi-mode in 1.4. As I said, it didn't seem anywhere near its full potential in 1.4, but I can see it developing into something extremely useful. For instance, in 1.4 you could have parts from any or all of the sequencer tracks inside a pattern to repeat, play with, create variations on and so on at will, and be able to use some of the same tracks in a different pattern elsewhere. Multi track clips would leave those tracks tied together forever, no?

That would have its uses, though.

The original suggestion was basically trying to get some of these benefits without needing so much extra stuff.
It's a rave, Lewis!

I usually am all for ideas like the one above but something about it makes me think that the simplicity that one would normally want to carry out with a part would disappear.

For instance, I thought the live mode in XT1 was a great idea but it wasn't done in a way that made it simple enough to use or replace other pattern based sequencers beacuse of the complexity of layers involved. It sould have been very simple: An auto generated list of parts for tracks that one can tragger and have loop.
