See, I told you so.

Edit: ahh, one mistake. Some of the presets I sent to Klaus were in V4 format, sadly. The file above has ALL V2 presets, that loads in V4. Could someone email this to Klaus? I just tried and the email bounced back saying it was spam.

As promised,
coming back from home, I did not even take time for a banana, in fear that you might think that ranting is more interesting to me than trying to fix the issues.....
So :
your presets work better in savihost than in V-Stack (which for your information, is Steinberg's vst host...) :
- each of them gives me between 4 to 10 error messages (about v4 fx, missing samples...) but at last, after 4 to 10 mouse clicks, load without crashing the host.
- BUT, two times on three I had to reboot my audio card (emu 0404 usb) because after quitting savihost, I had no sound any more.
But yes, your presets make sound in this host.
This being said, and even if I was ready to ignore my audiocard hickups, this is not really satisfactory, because :
- there is no way I would trade V-Stack (quite stable with all my other stuff, loads a lot of plugins, has fx sends/returns...) for this savyhost thing.
- as you said, you will do the preset conversion at your own pace, when you have time,
- those error messages will very fast be boring.
A better solution would be to try to install the TSW player (Zombiwoof claims that it can reside on the same machine as other WS engines.)
The BIG counterpart in this "choice" is that this player does not stream, and this feature alone is NOT, IMHO, pure "marketing" (as it was said by local "support", in a not very gentle way for William, in a now removed post) when a more than 2 Gb library is concerned.
I confess I lose my interest in this library, and will check with their sales department if I'm allowed to re-sell it to someone less picky, ranty, childish than me, and who qualifies for the xgrade.
If this is possible, I will, very heartfully, peacefully, forget everything about this painful episode, and will go back to my humble music-making, with other libs whose support seems to me more up-front, honest, helpful, friendly.

I have TSW , Vox,d and Wusik all installed on the same machine. I do however get a filename to long error on all the Chitara Guitar sounds. Not sure which of those three is generating this error but one of them is.

EDIT: Removed by ZW due to stupid technical speculation that will only confuse everyone. Nothing to see here, folks...move along.

(WilliamK answers my irrelevant question about path length below. He's a good sport.)

Depends on the location it should be 9046 chars, but in some situations it could be 1024 chars.

William,
I see that you try to help. Hence, even though my enthusiasm is not very high by now, I did try your last set of presets :
- about 40% load fine (more "tronics" than "ethno" BTW, but I will admit that may be just me and my taste),
- the rest is asking for unfound samples, and after 1 or 2 "okay" clicks, I unfortunately get "V-Stack encounters an error and must quit".
This 40% is only an estimation : re-launching v-stack, re-loading WS and rebrowsing to the ET presets quickly gets tiresome, even more after two unlucky weeks. So it may be worse (35%), or slightly better (45%).
Might it be that some presets are still in a not wanted format ? Or that the converter is not totally efficient ? I can't say.
Thank you anyway to try and do something, this at least sounds like support and is welcome.

Hey bud, if its complaining about missing samples, you need to tell BITR which samples its complaining about. You can see a !*! on the layers that have a missing sample. (V3 at least) That's not the converter error. And yes, I also think that they need to make a new set of presets that uses the sounds on a more "Ethno" fashion, so you are not alone there. ;-)
