Compressors are by no means the only plug-ins to allow side-chaining.

Ducking reverbs or delays, gates, Thaw, DtBlkFx...

The first post mentions several gate plugins.
I don't know any reverb or delay plugin with integrated ducking.

nomad factory liquid bundle... for 1...

but i only know cause i have it... but i guess it must be pretty common

The liquid bundle includes a compressor plugin, and I suppose that's what provides the ducking. As it should be, anyway.

Just mentioning it for the sake of clarity.

Almost all vocoders are side-chain. I tried to make a list of side-chain capable plug-ins as I use a modular host (and FL, though in FL it's rarely convenient to use them unfortunately) but they're so wildly disimilar that I gave up a while back.

That's right, You can actually side chain almost anything. That's the concept behing our analysis plugins that let you measure information from an audio source and use it to modify any effect parameter on any other track. These step by step tutorials give you the idea.

Don't know if it's still the purpose of the thread though... But side chain is a very large topic.

smartelectronix duckverb (was it mdsp?) ... thouigh i don't know if it can handle external sidechain ...
