It took longer than most threads which I start to turn whacko, though I only rarely post new topics.
I am even now dreaming of ways to organize midi data into more "playable" forms.
Stupid VST SDK doesn't really lend itself to most things I want to do. Working on making a fretless interface for touchscreen atm but nothing about midi particularly lends itself to this playing style.
Which of course is why I want the brain/audio output jack built in and leave it at that.

There are really only 2 working brain controllers on the market today.
The IBVA which lets you control a variety of things including MIDI and Brainfingers that lets you control your mouse cursor and your computer...
Brainfingers is more expensive than IBVA, but doesn't do MIDI directly.
You guys are nuts.
There can't be anything better than the ability to play your synth with your brain...I guess not everyone here has the required component though...

I can control my synths with my brain but I can't do it with my hands!!!
IS there any software and/or hardware out there that allows for "hands-to-midi" translation? I want to be able to play midi notes with my hands/fingers and record them digitally into a computer.
How do I do this?

Wow! Just think.....
No more need for monitors or headphones. Just plug your head into the mixer's outs.

jean-marc duchenne wrote:Hi,
I have something that could perhaps help you.
It is unfinished and some values are not accurate (the notes !), but it works not too bad.
Actually, you can choose a single trigger by bending a finger, or a multi trigger with the rate being controlled by the thumb or by the Y axis position (the X is the pitch...).
Tell me what do you think about, and perhaps can I take some time to continue it.

It is made for working with Ross Bencina's program. It is in the archive too.
Cheers,

its ages i wonder about a MIDI interface a la Matrix right behind my head
but i would feel happy already having cubase a run on the screen they have on Minority Report
i'd KILL for being able to move cubase parts around with my hands directly
Peace out

in the next 2-3 years will be everywhere. I played with one at the Wired Nextfest (I was pissing people off by tossing youtube videos from one side of the six foot long screen to another).
The closest thing I've seen to a direct midi link up is the tattoo of a midi port Tom Bolton (of PC AudioLabs) has on the back of his neck.

So, let's revive this old thread! We came up with: Brain2Midi!Has anyone ever tried to produce music using their brainwaves? It is now possible using Brain2Midi Android application from Vision EEG. This application will use the Muse headband to acquire EEG and then after analysis, Midi notes and CC parameters are generated and sent to a PC using Bluetooth, Wifi or with a USB to MIDI outlet.
Check out the promotionnal video :
The manual is available here. (http://www.visioneeg.com/VisionEEG/VisionEEGProducts/Art/Brain2Midi/)

For people who can't wait for the future and for Brain2Midi! to be superdeveloped, there's always the old methods.
For example, the Cheech and Chong way of writing a song instantly.

What about Brain2CV?

Requires (a working brain and) too much concentration to be useful for me. I'll give my addled brain a rest and just let the machines make my music.
