Nice. What are exactly those midi files ATM ? It seems that they are somehow non-standard as I can't open them properly or at all with the apps I have.

Hmm, that's odd. I just double-checked the midifiles generated and they seem to open correctly in the software I have, including Cakewalk's Sonar. They are just regular midi files format 1. They contain 64 tracks, one for each row in the grid, and have the duration of the pattern (i.e. 4 measures at whatever tempo is selected). The names of the tracks are the names of the instruments as they appear in the Kit Editor. For each cell which is not black, MIDI events are generated for the pan (based on the green component), and for the note triggering (based on the red component (velocity) and the blue component (pitch)).

I don't have Sonar or any of other biggies but I cannot open the Blip generated midi files with any of the software below :

Windows Media Player

Midi File Disassembler

Anvil Studio

http://www.anvilstudio.com/

Domino

Jazz++

(Could not find a download link)

Finally I found that Luna was opening them properly

http://www.mutools.com/downloads.html

And from Luna I can export to new 64 tracks midi files which open without probs with all the above apps.

Does any of the programs above give you a reason why they can't open it? Better can you send me the MIDI file transformed by Luna so I can check what has changed? Thanks !

Domino seems to say "unknown chunk" and just say they have a problem.

Anyway, original and Luna converted files are here :
