who wants to run me through the purpose of this plugin?

tried running a few things through it & i love what it dose to a full track @ 100% smooth & 39.37008% on the attack & sustain

if i pause silence for a few seconds then play it makes the ugliest sound ever that looks real nice on a vector scope,

with my lack of knowledge of this type of processing & its uses i would (& will) use it when mastering,

what is its general purpose in the studio?

thanks in advance :)

try to use it whenever compression doesn't seem to get you where you want... ?
.. or before a compressor to really "drive" the transients into the compressor. It's a common trick with the SPL to insert it on a drumbus before the compressor.

Cheers!

Yes, this is very good. It's similar to sidechaining but you're driving the comp harder with stronger transients. Sounds obvious but is very effective.

thanks for the links & info lads :)

for inserting before comps, I find the "smooth" param handy to have a one-knob-tweek at hand. clever one.

opinions?
THERE IS ALWAYS A WORKAROUND

feeding the sidechain input of a comp can give unusual results too, i got some sounds out of crunchessor that i had never heard before, and i thought i knew it in and out !

kudos to LOSER, your plugins are getting a lot of use here :D

So ... no issues, everything is allrigth? Nothing to improve, apart from new features like the attack length time, which I reserve to maybe release in a new version ;).
If noone is coming up with anything, it's going to leave beta stage soon (though nothing really changes then ... well it will get included in a huge .zip file so you'd have to get many other crappy VSTs that are then bundled with it  ).

Post

sounds good as is to me.
control over the attack and release time might improve the tweakability, but i've no idea if you can do that, or if that would still allow a nice musical character...?

As all good things in life, it will be free. Err .. as all great inventions .. But I'd need to set up company stuff or at least paypal to get money out of you, anyway, so I'm waaaay to lazy to do that, so all my plug-ins are free.
Wow! Thanks for the jewel! Definitely one of the best freeware plugs of the year :tu:
T2 Icarus is a must. SonicCore SCOPE is the most. As heart of studio it has my vote, cause XITE-1 is all she wrote.

Hiya

Tried it in WL6 yesterday on a EW&F mix, it was to subtile to make any
major impact boosting. But it was possible to get some kind of gate effect with it that sounded rather cool. So I will probably not use it on mixes. Will try it on drums later in C4. :)

Best wishes
Cheers Bob
Back for plug development in Sonic Birth.

So in other words - it's out of beta soon?

Post

works beautifuly in renoise, but can't insert in bidule. i get an error message "VST cache out of date. Please rescan your plugins and retry!". rescanned several times, with removing and adding transient shaper, still no luck, same message. never seen this error before on another plugins.
specs: win xp, plogue bidule 0.95

I'd say it's the point where a dev takes the file you already have and calls it final.

I just tested it here with the demo of the standalone version of Bidule (0.95) and it works fine, or did you use the plug-in version?

Post

i use standalone version. hmm, i'll try on other pc and see what happens. thanks for your fast response.
edit: works fine on other pc. so it's not your plugins fault. i'm sorry for false alarm & thanks for this great plugin :)
