Come on man, be patient.
There are others projects in the works too, and for a BIG major 2.0 updgrade, I think that you can wait at least 6 months, in 2008.

Hi,
When it's done..
It's too early to say when that will be. Putting v2.0 there as the product version can be done in minutes. Doing the things that we want to put in v2.0 is another thing. If even half of the things on the roadmap will make it into v2.0 it'll be a very worthy update. We've started work on another instrument plugin under the 4Front name and work on projects for various other companies which have strict deadlines. Considering that we're only a 3 man development team we can't focus on TruePianos alone all the time. We are however dedicated to TruePianos and will make it happen, if not sooner, then later.
We offer all our customers 1 year of free updates and we intent to make sure that all early adopters will get what we feel they are entitled too, even if the initial year should have passed by that time.
Working on v2.0 however doesn't mean that there won't be updates for v1.x in the meantime. Some things will be compatible with the current or an updated v1.x engine and they will be released when they are available.
That's all I can say.

That's so funny! I am one of those folks and love Truepianos--I use it almost exclusively. I was a little concerned that so much time has elapsed without an update. So I just logged onto your site to (nicely) bug you about the above and found version 1.02 and a new module waiting. I'm glad that you will take the early adopters into account. Continued success on your projects.Roel de Witt wrote:We offer all our customers 1 year of free updates and we intent to make sure that all early adopters will get what we feel they are entitled too, even if the initial year should have passed by that time.

Hi,
We have a newsletter. To keep informed about future updates it might be a good idea to subscribe to it. The newsletter is available from the 'front page' as well as from the 'customer' section of the website.
We don't subscribe customers automatically to this list since personally I just hate getting newsletters and other spam for all software I buy. I think the chosen approach is something many people agree with.

Are there any news concerning updates for Truepianos?
Will there be some more 1.x versions coming or is the next major update version 2.0?
Best regards

Hi,
The next major update will be v2.0 but we are currently trying to fit in another final v1.x update to be released in the next 1-2 months. This however isn't confirmed yet and depends on resources we can spare on this.
TruePianos v2.0 uses far more advanced methods to produce it's sound compared to the current v1.x product. At the time I wrote the quoted message the methods we planned for v2.0 were less advanced and basically an extension on the v1.0 product. Thus that's the reason for no inbetween updates to have been released in the last months.

Hi,
I can now confirm that there indeed will be another TruePianos v1.x update soon. We've put quite some efforts into it and it's starting to shape up to be a very decent potentially final v1.x update which most of you will appreciate. Full details will be made known when the update is released to the public.
The update will be free to all current TruePianos customers.

Is this going to be a new module or has the engine been updated or new features added?

Hi,
We'll release a full list of changes when the update has been released as we are still working on some things and details may change.
To give a quick answer to your questions: Yes, yes and yes.
