Well, really, the world doesn't need another compressor. But this one is right purty. Eye candy can sometimes overcome minor issues such as audio quality, so it may be the next great thing.Hink wrote:interesting, but to be honest another compressor is the last thing I need. Especially seeing how soon enough I'll be upgrading to Samp 10 and then I'll get another one of sascha's great creations. On top of that my next purchase after the upgrade will likely be UAD. Never say never though so I'll be interested to see what sets this apart from the rest.

So who's definately NOT buying this? I'm not!
Based on the whole guitar amp fiasco, I can no longer trust that Midiworks will ever deliver on anything. I mean, even if this thing does come out next week, will it continue to be supported afterwards? No offense, but when it comes to spending money I only buy plugins from people I can trust to actually finish things and also be around to support their products in the future.
Plus, I'm supposed to believe that somone who can't hear obvious nasty peaks (most likely clipping) in their own demo MP3 knows what good compression sounds like?
Anyway, I don't mean to hate. Best of luck to Midiworks otherwise.

Funkybot's Evil Twin, you forgot about all my other VST's.
(or dont know them)
1st Audio demo REMOVED !
I think people need to try S l a m m e r for themself,
to understand what I tried to demonstrate with that mp3.
So please wait a few days for the demo.
Thanks

This isn't the guy whose changed company names a few times is it? It's difficult to tell them apart.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:So who's definately NOT buying this? I'm not!

to be fair Rene you're not listed in the developers search for plug ins, your link for the sim has a link to your vocal suite and it says downloads suspended. TBH I would like to know where to get your other plug ins, perhaps it's time for you to update your profile with active linksMidiworks wrote:Funkybot's Evil Twin, you forgot about all my other VST's.

Making my memory even more suspect. I actually think I have this plug on a CD somewhere.Hink wrote:rene has released so few it's not exactly hard to remember themeduardo_b wrote:Man you've got one hell of a memory.shamann wrote:There was that mic positioner in the first dev challenge.![]()

Yeah, and he's got a couple of vocal processors which were quite good, but he doesn't provide any kind of permament link for, or none at all in the last few years, AFAICT.eduardo_b wrote:Making my memory even more suspect. Hmm, maybe I should gamble on Rene's new compressor in the hopes that the above WON'T also happen here. Or I could just save even more time and just flush my money down the toilet.bduffy wrote:Yeah, and he's got a couple of vocal processors which were quite good, but he doesn't provide any kind of permament link for, or none at all in the last few years, AFAICT.
In all seriousness Rene, professionalism counts for a lot and your track record in that department is weak IMO. My honest advice to you is that you should create some amazing plugins, put up a well run website, put out a couple of excellent freebies at first then charge fair prices for your commercial plugins and then most importantly, show that you're really interested in developing and supporting your work over the long term. Do all this while still being as friendly and open about your work as you possibly can be and after a couple of years, you might just convert some of us naysayers. Until then, you're going to have a hard time living down your past around here.
But, I do look forward to the release of your amp sim. "Guitar players, the Soundclick MP3 demo page got updated!"
