Toxic IV/Biohazard...any news on a release date?

I own Logic AND FL Studio... The synths in Logic are great, but don't have much 3rd party support for sounds other than EXS. The new Image Line synths are better supported and have the advantage of being much more current in design and engine... Really nice stuff, I have to say. And very reasonable on the CPU, something I can't say for a lot of Mac AUs! I'm looking forward to the AU Toxic, and I may buy all three... Good stuff.

hi maxx and thanks for the very helpful info...you've changed my mind!! I will definately switch now...Maxx Claster wrote:ToxicBio has better CPU usage and offers some extra features, when in sound and the "core" concept its the same. There will be all the same factory presets included, which you had in ToxicIII. So I'd advise you to switch, though, it's indeed your choice, tastes are different, maybe you don't like the new UI or something... just my IMHO (respecting your opinion and not forcing you in no way
Still I have to say that I think the toxic 3 skin is more easy on the eyes.... I would have liked to see the same colour scheme on the new synth.. but dont mind me, its no biggie.. the sound is what counts

We probably will make some new skins for all 3 synths (Morphine, PoiZone2, TBio). But not sure if, when, and how many we do

Hi Max, I love the new interface and the new/old bank manager. About the only thing that would improve it would be to put the scroll arrows further apart, like one on each side of the preset title. Looking and sounding great.

about preset menu arrows, great chance I will do that.

Also, I really have never notice or used the reveb much but I thought it sounded really good. Is it different to the last one or have I just been missing out on something good?

We probably will make some new skins for all 3 synths (Morphine, PoiZone2, TBio). But not sure if, when, and how many we doSomething to bookmark anyway.

There is chance of it. We have some plans about trying to make it *officially* compatible. Though it's not yet really defined, actually, I'd like to have TBio/Morphine/PoiZone working on Receptor and similar devices, but it's quite problematic - we need a working testing device, stay in contact with Muse so it's not as easy in fact. But, I hope - it will be done. I tryed to initiate this already in 2007, with no luck though, now it's probably time to try again.nl3 wrote:Hi Maxx,
any chance to have Biohazard working on Receptor (as for Toxic III)?

the reverb is the same as FLStudio effect plugin, made by Ultrafunk. It's really great, indeed, I like it alot too.morelia wrote:Hi Maxx, that's great, thanks.Maxx Claster wrote:thanks!morelia wrote:Hi Max, I love the new interface and the new/old bank manager. Maxx,
Is there a chance you could upload a screenshot for the Mac users to see?
I think some nice features would be:
- Putting the decay and FM curves BACK in from v2!
- Velocity assignable to operator decay time (can't remember if this is doable in v3?)
- A dedicated pitch env with amount per operator
- Repeating synced envelopes ala Operator!
I can't remember if T3 has full midi learn also?
Thanks!

Man and I still use v2, one of my favourite synths as well as its look.
Can't wait for T4!

THanks kodama for suggestions.
Unfortunately, no. Most of things you suggested I wouldn't like to add in Toxic Bio. Toxic, from the beginning, has captured it's niche NOT because it does all the stuff an ultimate FM synth does, but because it balances beetwen being versatile and easy in use. So, I needed to reduce the parameters which used rarely, and keep only what's useful for 99% of FM sounds. So, adding any new knob - it's not such an easy task, coz I need to add them carefully fitting in the concept.
Only for one your question I can reply "yes" atm - Toxic now supports MIDI learn
If it'd be possible to attach an image here, I'd posted a screenshot... Anyway, Mac version is coming very soon.
For example, why simply adding velocity to decay time is pretty problematic: you have MIDI routings there. But destinations are one of the ~300 parameters of TOxic Bio. So, if I add velocity as one of the possible sources, I get a conflict - which velocty to choose, if you route it, for example, to a chorus rate? Or to a distortion, something like that. Restricting destinations for some special sources? Doesn't sound good to me. Though, after your post I'm thinking about it, and probably I could simply take latest velocity... this may work, probably.

Ok, I have the idea - probably I've no such conflicts if I add Velocty and LFO 1/2 to the MIDI modulation matrix. Velocity I can take the most recent (please note it's not a usual "modulation" matrix, it's matrix where you route a controller to a parameter, not to internal controller processor one-per-a-voice, so it looks logical here to get latest velocity). This way routing velocity to decay time will work fine, since a voice remembers EG value when you start it.
LFO's are also global, and will probably work ok (and it finally lets me to resolve the old problem - panning modulation, you can already do it with doubling osicllators, but new solution looks more elegant). Also then you can control other stuff. So, at least one of your suggestions I probably can add, though need to check it in practice, still a chance it would lead to some confusion.
In FM8 for example there is modulation matrix of another kind, and it's somewhere wins but somewhere loses the Toxic modulation matrix (it's a bit different concept).
