Just out of curiosity here, could you give an example of what you consider to be a good guitar sound?
Listen to the solo in Saturn III:

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... id=2833409

The good stuff kicks in about 2:10, and there's a longer solo afterwards that makes about half the track's length.
That's a nice example of good, bassy fuzz with nice sustain, I like it.

But to say that in comparison the guitar tones on Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, and The Wall is "total shit", as opposed to saying "not my taste" is just, well, typical attention-getting provocative punk attitude, and bears little resemblance to objective reality.
I never said that.

David Gilmour has played Big Muffs in various builds at least as far back as Dark Side of the Moon. His sounds had a HUGE influence on my own tone search.

Learn a lot about Gilmour's rigs through all his albums, his Big Muff's and the boards that Pete Cornish made for him here:

Seriously good shit to read and learn there.

Sorry, man, but that's just about the stupidest thing I've ever read.

Why do you think all of my guitar playing has distortion on it.
This is exactly why I don't use one...I don't want it buried. However, this effect can be a welcome mat for guitars with bad (e.g. worn) frets. In addition, the slower moving stuff that relies on heavy chording can also benefit. Generally speaking, I'm a straight in (to amp) guy and am usually more concerned with remembering lyrics. :hihi:
I've got nothing to sell...am I on the right site?

Actually I think it's more that I don't like re-recording things because of the tiniest mistakes. I don't think I'm a bad guitarist, just not a very disciplined one...

nonsense.
Wasn't it Johnny Rotten who arrived to audition for The Sex Pistols with a Pink Floyd Sucks t-shirt?
And yet the Damned had their second album produced by Nick Mason.

It's actually more about timbre, but don't let me stop you from having fun.

wasn't a lot of Floyd produced by Alan Parsons?
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Why not just get the real thing? You can get Big Muffs on eBay for under $50 all day long (the black Soviet ones).

I personally prefer the EHX Double Muff to the Big Muff. They're also cheap.

I really never listened to much of his stuff, in fact I think I was mistaken in the fact the much of Pink Floyd was him...from what I just found a briefly skimming over it I think it was just DSOTM. I did find this after looking what I Robot was (googled his name, then put I robot in the search box and hit hilite)
In the spring of 2007, a new Sony/BMG 2-CD compilation called The Essential Collection was released containing remastered versions of all the APP hits. Tales Of Mystery And Imagination, I Robot, Eye In The Sky and Vulture Culture were all re-released at the same time in expanded form, containing never-before-heard bonus material.

Alan lives in Santa Barbara, California with his wife Lisa and her two daughters, Tabitha and Brittni, three cats, four Guinea pigs, a lop-eared rabbit, a giant Labrador called Harrow and an 18-hand Clydesdale called Dante.
I thought that last part was kinda funny

well besides the free part in his defense you never described what your use would be. It could be an easy mistake to believe that you are using for a guitar going into your DAW. I have a feeling you want to use it inside the box, so his post would be out of context.
