Well, most of my forumite listening is o'er at The Bloody Eardrum nowadays, but you're one of the few that consistently manages to lure me back in here. :D

Post

Lol. What's the bloody eardrum? Is that something on Vae? I thought Vae shut down. I'm sure I saw that it did sometime back in my exile from the net.

Damn, I should be awake enough to make some KVR-oriented music again instead of plotting the overthrow of reality. I'm more prolific when don't try to be normal but instead try to hard to make craziness.

Ayup, that's VS's café, and nope, it's still very much up and running… just as (if not more) active than a niche community that maintains a population under that of Dunbar's number could expect to be, too.
I guess I spend most my time over there and at Forever Doomed now, but considering I can't seem to kick my KvR addiction, I don't think anyone will have the pleasure of seeing the last of me here yet. :hihi:

I clicked your sig to see if it'd take me to Vae and got entangled in your chin pubes.

PM me the url plz?

New song title idea: Venus Fly Pubes.

Oh, and http://vaesolis.org/f2 does the trick, your old login/password should still be good.

Post

A hahahaha, I'm so dumb I maxed out my logins trying to remember, then having password reset. I'll try tomorrow when I'm not so tired. I'll premier my new song called, "Blowsy Curtains: Don and I Renew Our Vows In Passadena Amidst A Shower Of Sundews"

Still keeping with the carnivorous plant theme, but I admit that's a bit classier than Venus Fly Pubes. :hihi:

Got signed back in. Thanks VD. Time to make more music 8)

for once, I wish this was longer Runagate music.

I like especially where the trumpet thing comes in in the middle. It does sound very Zappa, the way it relates to the tonality established with that hyperactive object in the center of the thing.

Best ever, IMO. You've dramatically improved. It sounds like you could even parse these events out and play it with a band. Which indicates you've been working toward something in the vicinity of doing that.

For the most part I consider nice solos to be "cheating" but this was intended to be a cafe contest song which I siimply forgot to submit for 2 weeks hehe. It's not like it's hard for an improv sax player to come up with lead parts.

Oddly, that's not the case. I'm so dishearted with my attempts at playing with others (enitrely due to time and resource limitations sadly) that I'm writing live solo music. This is not indicative of that at all. Do you seriously know people that could play this? I certainly don't.

You're weird.

Huh. If you say the line is based on your saxomaphone playing, you could handle some parts. I don't know anyone anymore to do anything. I do believe the difference here is informed by some-kinda-ensemble-activity.
It's individuated and recombined. Before, lotta it was sort of a tuna-melt casserole.

It's hard to get anyone else to do anything for very long without making sure they're fed. Or something. People with the chops to do that would be very busy, trying to get paid so they don't have to have a day job.

People who can do stuff got there because they have the ego to reach and grasp. It's hard to find, then motivate, others to do squat. Resources. Is why a Zappa would write a buncha goofy shit and buffoon it up, and make a business out of it.

Also! you have to be mean as hell to get people to play difficult things. A whip used to be enough, back in the 20th century. Maybe now you need a gun, and a lotta money.

I think you're the only person almost as prolixious as I in these here parts, jan.

If you get a chance please pop on over to my music page
http://www.3amnoise.net/runagate/services.html
and scroll all the way down and on the last mp3 player check out
"Schiamacachinnations" and tell me what you think about that. It's from before I knew how to twist VSTs into knots. ;)

Post

it's the same sort of music.

you're using tablas like sorta bongos, aincha? I acquired a pair a bongos recently.

No longer do I say, I wish I hadda pair a bongos.

I like the drums. You could cut this about in half I think. Loads of energies.

I'm doing a very conventional southwestern blues rock gittar thing now.

I'm not lying. NICE solos. Tone. 8) Fingers making contact with the material.

Tocar.

(I was in Mexico long time ago, the gittar players down in that Los Playas (thee beetchess)
- this was when La Bamba hit the charts behind Los Lobos covering it - they'd pass around these huge bombers and say:

Tocar La Bamba, main.

No one wanted to play that song, everyone was so sick of it.

Post

the central part sounds like sonic the hedgehog, bristling on psychedelics.

funny the sound that takes over as everything else stops a few times...sounds like computer freezing.

8 month later....
I posted a remix.
I am pretty sucky, even with self imposed deadlines.

Thanks for letting me make some noise with this, Runagate!
