Just looking through that page. I think that it's worth saying on the page that you get 2 boxed versions (one Sampler and one FX?), register them at IKMM and then download the other 2 products from IKMM.

I just tried the ordering the Bundle and it did not ask me to choose anything. So perhaps you get all 4 boxed versions (the IKMM news is not explicit about this either).

PS: 18 x 600MB downloads = 11 GB = $33 here, just for the bandwidth capacity

Agreed... although in some cases this does work out..ie if you buy a product you don't own and get one you already own as a freebie, you can register just the one you want and sell the other as unregistered which saves you the $50 (because you still get the serial #.. you just don't officially register it).

So, I DO now own ATJH and if I'd purchase the Vintage Keys & Effects Bundle I would get the serial number of ATJH (which I own right now) - and this one I could resell without registering it?

Does that mean a license transfer wouldn't be necessary, right?

But how do I get the serial #? Doesn't it appear only in my account at IKM? Then I had to transfer the license, right?

So, I'm a bit confused.

As far as getting the deal and selling off one, you have to be careful how you do it if you want to avoid transfer fees. Not really sure off-hand as I don't think you're really supposed to do it. If you register one and you get the other serial then it knows it is YOURS so... not a good idea to sell it to someone else. Kind of tricky if you already own the stuff. It is really just for YOU if you don't own these items. If you do then... guess this one isn't for you but there will be others. It seemed like Beergeek had an interesting way of doing a trading kind of thing but... again, you guys would have to work that out how you do it to your own satisfaction on your own. We can't endorse any of that. If you resell an item there's supposed to be a transfer fee. If you have an unopened box item you can't get around that but otherwise... I don't know.

But since english is not my native tounge I didn't get right whta your suggestion is ... in the end?!?

Or is your over all hint that - in the end - it is up to ourselfs in digging around with buying, (re-)selling and transfering IKM stuff, right?

He's basically saying that he can't explicitly condone it because of his affiliations. But if you haven't registered it, you haven't registered it. I have done it a number of times and even contacted IK when I was selling off the software included with the StompIO, and they said it was fine. Squids is just watching his own back. Understandably so.

A quick question about SampleTron and SampleMoog:

if one's boxed and one downloadable (I'm drunk but that's the way I got it from reading the posts) - why not make both downloadable: that'd surely be easier for me (and probably a few others as well)?

It's the only way to get around customs you know ...

Nah, it only works cleanly if both were boxed.

However, there is a way that's totally legit and it's only $25 more than what you would be paying if you didn't have either plug.

Here's how it works:

I own SampleTron so I buy a SampleMoog crossgrade and register it. I then get a downloadable SampleTron in my user area. I sell my existing SampleTron license for 1/2 of what I paid for the SampleMoog crossgrade + $25 (1/2 of the license transfer). I then register the downloadable SampleTron.

The only caveat is that whoever buys the license from me has to be eligible for a SampleTron crossgrade.

This way is totally legitimate and the 2 parties involved wind up paying $25 more than my crossgrade price for SampleMoog, and btw, I'm a platinum member so my price is pretty good

The same process works for Metal....

There's no other way to work it as far as I can see...but this way is pretty close to the original promo...

[edit] I just realized that in truth, I don't even have to wait to sell my SampleTron/ATJHE licenses if I want to do this. This would get you the money for your purchase upfront...but the bottom line is that you are paying pretty close to the promo price for the plug that you don't have. You will still have paid the regular price for the one you have.

Wouldn't this the best time for the More Tron You'll Ever Need Group Buy with all the Squids Tronology, SampleTron and a free SampleMoog (supposing your hard drive did not explode yet) with the ik 2 for 1 special ?

We were thinking about it but the last group buy was such high maintenance and the vibe in the thread kind of spoiled it... so I don't know. But, it is a great deal as it is anyway. Maybe we'll just offer a cheap crossgrade to Squids Tron's sounds for anyone who gets SampleTron right now. That might make more sense.
