It's great to have a decent sample editor and per clip effects.
Reaper has per clip FX. Whether decent or not is for you to decide!
Compared to Logic I mean

I thought Logic's effects were reputed to be good/better than Cubase's ... ?

right.. that wasn't the point :P The point is that Logic doesn't do per-clip fxs, so it doesn't matter how good they are. Cubase and Reaper do do per-clip fxs, and Cubase has a decent sample editor, unlike Logic and Reaper (which has none).

So to sum it up.. we need more cowbell

Welcome to the family, Reaper-Fanboy.

Seriously, was that really necessary? Does that make you a superior user or something? Without Cubase, Logic and ProTools (and their predecessors on the Atari), nothing like Reaper would have been possible (concept and workflow wise).

And why do I even write in a thread like that? I just thought "sh*t, Steinberg just revealed a new host and ditches their rewrite of Cubase yet again" - geez.

Gotcha. In that case, rumours of Cubase's death are apparently premature

So Spaceman... you didn't even get the DP6 up and running? Hmmmm... I've been wondering about Cubase 4.1 for a long time. I owned 2.0 SX and used it for awhile... Had no problems with it except at the time, the midi controller setup for the Mac didn't work... but that was a long time ago. Still, nobody wants to admit they switched from Logic to Cubase (on the Mac side) these days. Wonder why?

ummm, was the reaction really nessecary? Would it be a problem if someone came on here and said "cubase is dead!!! I uninstalled it, and now im using tracktion!!! woohooo!!!"

for many, a change of hosts to something that is more useful and intuitive for them is quite a positive experience to be shared :)

Well, it was generous of him to at least give us all a warning. Because now that he has ditched Cubase and switched to Reaper, Cubase is to all intents and purposes dead.

The OP is the only real person in fact - the rest of us are just figments of his imagination. He might continue to imagine other poor sods still using the dead Cubase software for a short time, but before too long he will forget it/them altogether; Cubase and its users will then cease to exist at all.

i think everyone is taking this way to seriously ;)
