Firebird+
T2 Icarus is a must. SonicCore SCOPE is the most. As heart of studio it has my vote, cause XITE-1 is all she wrote.

based on this comment it must be a drum synth of some kind...living sounds wrote: Just a little hint: That's really not the kind of sound you'd associate with this synth...

I think it's something well known for aggressive leads and bassvurt wrote:based on this comment it must be a drum synth of some kind...living sounds wrote: Just a little hint: That's really not the kind of sound you'd associate with this synth...

Maybe Massive ?
Dunno ..
It could really be a lot.

It is not. The FX just add more space and dimension (it's a delay, a Doubler - sort of pitch shifter - and a plate reverb).

It wasn't mentioned yet.
As for the sound, it is pretty spectacular to my ears. Very alive, (forgive me the term) warm and with a sparkly shimmer. It's bright but doesn't have any harshness and it's very well balanced. I'd have a hard time coming close with any synth.
Anyway, here's another one:
www.scherer.de/Download/OneMore.ogg
I tried to find a sound that is not so easily recognizable. It's not as outstanding as the other one, but it's good for a comparison. I've included a recording of a more recent 'copy' of this synth using the exact same patch this time. Which one do you prefer? The effects are the same minus the delay.

vurt wrote: so given that this could take a while as its a sound that pretty much most synths with added delay and reverb(not specified) can achieve, can you explain the excitement over given patch?

A much more obvious sound will follow later, BTW.
