i made a cz101 emu a couple of years ago, sounded really good, but then the envs went wrong and the dev necer fixed them, so i stopped doing it...but, while reaserching it, i found some really good stuff on CZ's...but it all seems to have gone now...all links are dead..shame.

like i said tho, i can upload if anyone needs it

Once you grasp what's going on it's easy to create sounds and soundscapes. If anyone doesn't like Kassiopeia! then they probably don't like PD synthesis.
That "easy to manipulate" part brought an idea to my mind -would it make this complex envelopes much easier and faster to program if it would be possible to draw it with a mouse?
I think that its good idea even in hardware synths and i dont see any reason why not all softsynths offer that option?
In hardware it would need touch sensitive display and it might make some extra costs though..
I have had Hohner HS-2 and VZ-8M and IMHO those are great machines but lack of hands on control makes editing sounds so time consuming that it ruins whole thing.
Even with software editor things are not fast enough. I have spent hours editing a sound that does not even get any better! :D

Just tried it, sounds great, love the envelopes (gotta hate all those SE creations claiming to be CZ emus yet they have ADSR envelopes LOL), the noise modulation is great to add grit to the sound (hey I like digital and cold) or just to make some f**ked up sounds.
The presets could be a bit better, but I'll program my own anyway.
Sounds even better with some nice fuzzy distortion and a massive chorus after it.

I'm checking this out 2moro! Cheers, already downloaded! :)

This is a nice synth, I normally install freeware check it out then uninstall it but this is staying, I have about 12 freeware soft synths installed now, this is a good one, got some old school detroitish techno sounds out of it so it must be a good emulation, could do with some more presets(with titles) but its nice, bit ugly(like me in the morning) but does the job!

PS Why do you spend all this time doing it then give it away?

Because I'm a nice bloke.

Send me some presets - and you'll be a nice bloke too. :D

And that goes for anybody who wants to send me some presets and earn themselves a big fat credit with the release of Kassiopeia! 1.1

Whats the deadline for sending presets?

No rush. It doesn't take long to re-compile the VST with any new presets, and add any relevant info to the manual. Alternatively, if the presets don't make it into the compiled VST, I can always construct a .fxb bank file from any sent presets and include it along with a .txt file in the zip. :)

Sonic Assault, I just send you ideas to make Kassiopeia better !
Please, check your mails ! 8)

I don't really understand how it's possible to dislike an SE plug without trying it, as almost any amount of the guts of it can be hand-coded inside.
