Since this happened to me when I started, and I've seen a number of other people have the same issue, addressing 'loopitis' and the traps you can fall into while composing and arranging in DAW's would probably be a pretty hot topic. It's too damn easy to get overly focused on the technical stuff just to end up laggin on the creative end of things.
Hi, erm, MOK19. One thing worth considering that I developed when working on soundtrack stuff is to attach a piece of video to your track and change the mood/tone/structure of your track accordingly. It breaks you out of 8 and 16 bars, and you can choose how precise you want to be. Naturally it helps to use an action sequence if you're doing an uptempo trakc, etc.
