It is quite old, but I am attached.

And IMO that's exactly the point. It's a lot about how we got used to the sound of a certain instrument. Just as much as about how much I miss my very first guitar/amp setup. Cheesy as hell, but boy, was I inspired back then. I certainly got the most out of it (something I can't say of any software I own).

Btw, I really like your music, Bubbamusic. Downloaded about everything a while ago already. Groovy but with a certain twist to it. Certainly up my alley.

I think were now quite complete when it comes to the leading products, so I might be time for judgment. I agree that in a mix almost all the products will be able deliver satisfying results. What i did was make a distinctuion between the sampling libaries and the pm vstis.

In the first category, the sampling libs, it was a great surprise for me. I thought that for scarbee libs would be clear winners (do not have the pianos but the black bass and red bass, and these are really great), but actually I liked the soudn characteristic of the learjeff soundfont the best, the acousticsamples e pian second (which has the advantage of release samples). After that I would place scarbee cep, then the K3 rhodes. but as said, all are good.

in the physical model category, if one judges by realism, I would say that the 2 mrray products are the winners. EVP, LL2 and LL3 are imo about the same. the pinaoteq and otr88 do not sound very real - if you ask me. the pianoteq, however, has a very good sound character which I like. If I had to order it by liking I would place it on no 1 or 2. Of course, my personalbest LL2 presets still has my sympathy for its sound character. But the otr88 did not convince me at all. and then, of course, my personalbest LL2 presets still has my sympathy for its sound character.

I am sure others will have different preferences. It's good that we now have a relatively good basis to compare
