It will be interesting to see how this all pans out..I always loved the SuperWave synths and would be willing to give them a second chance if they put things right....I'm going to fire off a mail and see what happens..
Superwave is back, Tarkus released !?

Would I be right in saying that it seems they have changed their licensing system?.. I bought the trance pro bundle in 2004 and I remember that the license key was tied to your system...Seems they have changed it to a simple username and serial now..

It's a real shame they didn't spend all this time working on a true JP8080 emulation rather than what sounds like (I could be wrong) a rather uninteresting herd it all before v/a.
I liked Superwave when I started out back in 2004 and brought the trance pro which I loved however by today's standards it woefully weak and not really useable (Not that I was able to use it after I upgraded to Vista anyway
)
The vst world has moved on lot since they disappeared and but is appears they have been left behind.
I brought Z3ta by cakewalk for a little more than the price of Tarkus and they cannot be compared.
If any one does by it please post a review as I'm only judging by the demos and could be wrong.

Finally I can try out Tarkus! I've been Hyped up about Tarkus ever since I first seen it! Superwave got some nerve though coming back out of No where when they pissed so many people off. I'm sure they probably get Death Threats all the time? My guess is their are quite a lot of people that want them dead?

I'm just watching the drama/comedy unfold.
But it'd be nice to feel that one day I could move my Superwave P8 to another machine, if only for its "Fanfare" preset...unless someone can point me to a better one, of course.

I wasn't aware of your software, again, sorry.
You seem to be quite honest and open about the issue, nothing wrong there.
He's a bit too far away from where I live for that. Can't you Synthedit guys get together, visit the dev with a flower pot full of fresh concrete and make him an offer he can't refuse ?![]()

Once again, I agree with you. Hopefully Jeff will get SE to finally catch up. If not, then we'll all have to move on to something else. The next thing I'm going to release is based on something I already had built in SE, so it makes more sense for me to reuse the parts than to reinvent the wheel. However, I am not particularly thrilled at the idea of developing too much new stuff in SE until I see it catch up.This issue devalues the creative efforts of many good folks here after all.
Afaics it's been a long time, technology's been moving on.
In any case though...back to Superwave. Sorry for the thread hijack folks.

Isn't it fixed by now? I thought it wasugo wrote:That's just the well known SE bug...nothing new there. When using multiple instances of the SuperWave Tarkus my VST Host crashed?
The crash is due to a multi-core processing issue and will be fixed in a future release. A simple workaround is to disable multi-core processing in your VST host, or, use only one instance of the Tarkus and bounce down to audio tracks."

synthedit 1.017 is quite stable.
it is stable on multicore systems providing the user duplicates the .dll
as such, the current edition of synthedit is entirely capable of producing 100% effective and useful audio processing tools.
the fact that you have to duplicate the .dll is a very minor issue that will take 20 seconds of the applied user's time, once on the system.
in the minds of those who strongly weight their thoughts by group envaluation, this very minor point becomes a massive flaw.
this coincidentally serves two purposes from the standpoint of the areferential agenda:
firstly, it deters anyone who is crassly exploitive from developing commercial items
secondly, it reduces the articulative facility of those who do not think outside of the economic framework.
anyone who is only interested in music/semantics/expression and isn't deterred by the disappointment of those with commercial ideals is absolutely empowered.

I don't care much about the synths.
But one thing that grabs my attention quite a bit is the 808 emu for 10bucks.
I know there are plenty of more powerful drumsynths around, but the TR-808 is one of the Roland box that i'm still in love with, and i am often keen to listen to what a nice emu can sound like.
The lack of "snappy" feature on the snare got me a bit frightened, but well, if the featureset and the sound is good, the price tag is good too... I'll try it.
