so their comp is more making a track from samples instead of creating sounds.
Looks interesting, but the artist series libs don't really appeal.

yeah,my bad,it's only a similar comp.,but actually the prizes are every single physical title of LM sample CDs worth 1335 GBP + (as stated here):

and they've added more
anywho, you don't win a contract so S2S is still a better choice for sound designers

I'm preparing a pack, a kind of minimalistic/techno one. I'm rediscovering instruments for their beautiful crystal clear sounds, it's fun! So far 8 loops out of 10 are done. If the pack doesn't make it I'll release it as a free sample pack.

I'm just an amateur musician, but I am also a photographer. Photogs, designers, and artists are constantly being pulled to participate in "contests" that promise great prizes or whatnot (and to be fair, they usually deliver). My advice is to read the fine print...most of the photography contests I've seen are simply rights-grabs for your work. You submit work that you like, and upon submitting, that work, it becomes the property of the contest holder, regardless of whether or not you win. Typically, these "contests" are just excuses for companies to gain the rights to large quantities of quality work for very little expense.
That being said, I haven't read all of the fine print on this one, so that may not be the case...just relaying my experience with "contests" in the creative fields.

Small Print:
I guess that answer your question. You agree that the sounds you enter are freely and exclusively licensed by you to Sounds/To/Sample Ltd and DJ Magazine, and may be offered as free samples as part of future promotions.

Yeah, I just think it's important for people to know what they're getting into. If those terms don't bug ya, go for it.

Well the way you explain it it makes it clear what they can benefit from a contest like this. To be honest I'm not sure, I'm tempted to just release my pack as freeware because I don't think I will win. Also, I think it would be more fair to liscence only the sounds of the winner, so those who didn't win could release their sounds for free on freesounds.org for example.
