Yeah, sorry. Most of that product line is going to go away very soon and replaced be the somewhat easier to grasp Drum Masters 2 line up of products which includes the following products that will be the only ones on eSoundz:

Drum Masters 2 (Flagship title with artist Multitrack Kits & Grooves)

Drum Masters 2 Platinum & Platinum HD Edition (on an Infinite Hard Drive)
This will have all of the 5 artist multitrack material plus the 7 Drummer Packs below plus more (expanding on what was in the original DM1 Platinum).

EpiK DrumS HD - A Ken Scott Collection

Drum Masters Expansion Sets:

Drum Masters 2 Drummer Packs Stereo/QuasiMT Kits & Stereo Grooves (in Rex, Apple Loops, Wave & Infinite Player mapped)

Bill Bruford Classic Drummer Pack
Nick D'Virgilio Progressive Drummer Pack
Jerry Marotta World Drummer Pack
Danny Gottlieb Jazz Drummer Pack
John Blackwell R&B Drummer Pack
Ed Greene Funk Drummer Pack
Steve Gadd Session Drummer Pack

Drum Masters 2 Signature Kit Series These are all Stereo/Quasi Multitrack

Signature Drum Kits Vol. 1 (the Kits from the Drummer Packs without the grooves)
Signature Drum Kits Vol. 2 (additional signature artist kit pieces + styles)
Signature Percussion (aha! One fantastic percussion collection partially recorded by Ken Scott for a really good price coming right up! ;) )
Signature Snares (Over 25 different snare sample sets that are not in the other collections at all)
... and other Signature Kit Series titles focused on either kit pieces or certain drum kit artists, styles etc.

We'll also still have the Style Session multitrack titles of Rhythm & Soul, Nashville Sessions and an upcoming Jazz Sessions title. Classic Rock Sessions is going away though because that'll be included with Drum Masters 2 standard now for free. Not bad value there! Drum Masters 2 - the main one - is only around $249.

The Signature Kit titles are around $199 and with the $99 coupon on those from the GB they are only $100 each which is hopefully irresistable.

The main DM2 and first two Signature Drum Kit titles + EpiK DrumS are all almost ready and will be available either toward the end of this month or just before NAMM next month. Pre-orders for EpiK are available now with a hefty discount and pre-orders for those Drum Masters titles will be available very soon as well. I will let you all know.

Anyway, when they are available the other Drum Masters products will go away on esoundz and all the a la carte kit and groove downloads will only be available on www.downloadablesoundz.com soon.

awesome ! thats makes things so much more clearer to me .
I have a question about how the signature kits are recorded, are they divided into dry,med ambient mixes a la ocean wave ? or are they recorded optimaly 1st according to the style of the drummer eg, classic recorded more dry ? and progressive more ambient? (I'm only guessing as my drum knowledge is limited) and then there are extra mixes using the effects and room impulses?
One more regarding Drum Masters 2" the main one - is only around $249" do the group buy purchasers get a coupon towards this as well?If there is I'm guessing not as much because there is no overlap between the group and this content
Anyways very happy to get in on the groupbuy it will fill a need in my home studio very nicely :)

You get a nice taste of Signature Kits from Vol. 1 & 2 in this current group buy. So, the full Signature Kits titles have more. In Volume 1 you have drum kits from the Drummer Packs (so material from each of those drummers compiled in one for the person who wants just kits and no audio grooves). Volume 2 has various funk, soul, rock, blues style drum kits and some signature kit pieces from other cool artists.

Those two volumes have some separate mixes such as a dry and ambient but not a uniform 3 per kit like OWD DL does. It is more what is appropriate for the style. However, many (not all but most) of the Signature drum kits have full discrete multitrack versions that you can get either a la carte on www.downloadablesoundz.com or in the two new Multitrack titles - the main Drum Masters 2 and the Drum Masters 2 Platinum. Those have many dry to ambient preset mixes and you can make tons of your own.

Going back to the Signature Stereo/Quasi MT kits, yes it continues the convolution impulse room feature of this current group buy. Plus there will be "kit piece" collections such as Signature Snares and also one for kicks, toms, hats & cymbals and some of those do have a dry/direct emphasis and wet/overhead emphasis mix per kit piece and many of those were done in smaller tighter rooms so they are good add ons to just about anything you have because you can add ambience to them further quite easily. They contain MANY previously unreleased samples of nearly every brand of drum you can think of and also Danny Gottlieb's massive collection of cymbals.

Lastly, the coupon for the main Drum Masters 2 multitrack will be $50 off the street price (which is $100 off the MSRP). Basically instead of paying $249 you will be able to get it for $199 which is not bad considering there isn't even much crossover (apart from the FREE extra Multitrack kit you can pick because we reached 300).

I have a question for you. As I mentioned the Signature Kit series is based on these Stereo/Quasi Multichannel "kits only" (no audio grooves... but more for midi grooves and live playing or programming from keys or e-drums). The idea is that you can really collect a lot of different kits and swap kit pieces to make unlimited hyrbrid kits. In THIS group buy you get some of the Drum Masters Signature Kits from Vol. 1 and 2 along with a rare opportunity to add some choice OWD kits to that for some nice kit piece swapping elements (highly recommended ppl get this group buy for that alone!).

I've also mentioned there are going to be a variety of different volumes in the Signature Kit series including some titles dedicated just to certain drum types so you can add say just tons of snares or cymbals. My question to you is, when it comes to cymbals, do you think you'd prefer to have a collection of JUST tons of rides or just tons of hats or crashes? Or would you prefer to have a title of more cymbals which includes all three? Or would you like hats as a separate volume but rides and crashes together? Don't worry it doesn't affect the amount of material - let's say you'd get roughly the same a mount of instruments per volume either way - just a concentration of more of a particular thing.

This customization collection is going to be extremely cool. These are all new samples I'm talking about. There are no multritrack versions of them though - this is just for the Signature Kit series specifically. But there's no overlap with samples of these additional volumes with the previous ones so it is so cool to be able to add a variety of a particular kit piece you want more of. With the snares there's all sorts of different brands and types - piccolo snares, deep snares and even some small 10-12" snares, snares with wood hoops, vintage snares, artist snares... and then for cymbals as I had mentioned earlier we sampled Danny Gottlieb's cymbal collection which is massive and full of variety, rare one of a kind cymbals, famous jazz cymbals, Bonham, Gadd, Erskine and more.

Ok, I'm lost.

If I want to end up with DM 2 at the best possible price and already own

- Ringo Kit and MT Grooves
- John Blackwell Kit and MT Grooves
- Bonzo Kit and Grooves
- Nashville and Blues Kits and grooves
- Soul and Motown MT Grooves

what do I do?

As I mentioned in the other thread, a ton of hats would be my preference if choosing one cymbal type over another.

Exciting! I presume that each of these extra kit pieces will come with multiple velocity layers and a few round robin alternates? This will prove to be a very useful collection, for sure!
