And what's wrong with the Distortion knob in Acidrack then :-o :?:

:D Seriously, you should be able to get some really nasty noises out of this beastie in vanilla...

Best of luck,

OK, here's another one for the merry crowd - Cheese Rack.

As said this was originally a cheesy track in Gallileo and has been sort of ported over to Acidrack. To be honest, I prefer the Gallileo version

Also humble aplogies to Max here. When I cloned the track, I was still getting issues with crashes which suddenly meant that Galileo may have performing OK as others found in Fruity (apart from me :help: ).

True to form, it was the AraldFX Stormgate that was causing the trouble and once he was thrown out of the pub door, we all went happily back to our pints... :-o

So, Gallileo probably is OK in Fruity as everyone bar me found out a few months back 8)

Anyway, this is meant to be cheesy - I see Jon Boyd has already located the filth factor in this little monkey and I may get around to doing something "native" to the synth in a week or so. :D

Puppets at the ready,
Mouxbar

Great stuff Mouxbar! Cheers once again for submitting :) ... and potential good news re. Galileo?? :hyper:

If Galileo is the next OSC I will be HAPPY         :hyper: :hyper:

Well Mac, it would be good to review Galileo in light of Mouxbars revelation, and I think there's a lot of us would be very happy to do a Galileo comp :)

OSC11 is gonna be Flex-N-Stein 4, so we have until January to suss whether Galileo can be used. Meanwhile, if enough folks can a spare chunk of time to try Galileo out on various set ups, we can put it back on the agenda.

Yes, from memory there was a mixed bag of trouble with Galilleo over diffrent DAWS's - Fruity was one of the few that seemed mostly OK. Except of course me :!:

As such, I don't expect any great steps forwards here as a whole I'm afraid :(

I know that Stormgate is pretty popular and a freebie bank of presets recently was posted for it which was why I was playing with the effect again. And hitting crashes :-o

Perhaps Max will be good enough to remind us where we were at with Gallileo.

Cheers,
Mouxbar

Hey! how 'bouts an angular momentum OSC??
Maybe to easy?
There stuff seems to be great sounding!

AmbiYense by WrigglerUk uploaded. This is kind of what I was aiming for with Gargoyle & never got close. Ah well...
I also found AcidRack caused a few problems - Tracktion didn't like it at all, refused to re-open 2 projects with it in. Used MuLab in the end.

I'd say enjoy, but you probably won't
Can you play Far Far Away?
Yes - how far would you like?

Yesterday I enthousiastically started with the challenge (made some nice kick/snare/hat sounds already) but acidrack keeps crashing REAPER. :(

Because the crashes are quite serious (I even got a blue screen & restart once, on Vista!!) I do not feel like narrowing down the problem. It seems that the crashes happen sooner when I have more instances (> 3) running.

Normally my music laptop is as stable as a rock and no other 3rd party plugin has crashed REAPER so far. It seems that there are some serious code issues in acidrack (a big memory leak maybe?).

Too bad, because I quite liked the challenge and this synth. Nice sound. Only thing I liked less are the linear (?) knobs, which makes it hard to make short decays, for example. I noticed that you can fine-tune the envelope settings while holding down the CTRL-key, but still it is hard. I like the synth1-style knobs more (sorry for being person 12276228 comparing these two synths :D ).

Thats a shame bug80, cheers for joining the challenge tho ... your info is as valuable, particularly to the developer, as the success stories ... and perhaps emphasises how big a challenge we are taking on.
As I wrote earlier, we normally discourage the use of samples, but in some cases we relax that rule. I'm wondering if there's a case here as you are not the first to report CPU issues. :(

Would it be enough help in your case to allow the use of your percussion sounds as samples?

Hey, this is quite inspirational! I played around with it for 15 minutes and I already have the core of a track :)

Cheers Mac :) Go tell it on the Flex-N-Stein thread! ... I think this has to be my best synth to date by a mile :D ... I've just done some percussion sounds and wow! ... It can hit hard! .. I'll be posting another demo track soon.

Thanks for the offer tattiemannie, but I'd rather wait for a more stable version of acidrack. Frequent crashes and/or computer restarts are killing for creativity. Sampling the percussion sounds will maybe help (and won't be that much work), but I'm pretty sure more problems will occur when I start to layer other sounds (i.e. having multiple instances of acidrack running at once again). And sampling those will just be too much work.
