Bass Amp Sims - Studio Devil VBA vs Guitar Rig 4 bass amp?

I recently downloaded the demo for the audiffex gallien krueger emulation and it sounds great, without being too compressed. Better to my ears than the studio devil - haven't dried guitarrig. The Audiffex Gallien Krueger demo has a nagging popup and will only allow you to use presets, but then it has no noisebursts or dropouts so you can actually play the thing before deciding, and the presets are pretty versatile.

I was just randomly browsing the forum when I found this post and I gotta say..
The Audiffex Gallien Krueger sim's really pretty, pretty, pretty good.
Great response, great smooth sound, without tending to rumble, or getting uncomfortable, unless you want it to (but still in a very realistic way).
In my opinion even the demo's far better than anything else out there, including Ampeg, Studio Devil and GR.

so it's not just me then - good to hear I couln't help thinking that I might be hearing the name more than the sound, since I couldn't find any reviews or mention of the amp anywhere. It's not even expensive, and no, I'm not affiliated with Audiffex or GK this is no infomercial.

Regarding Audifex GK,

I happen to have purchased it a couple of weeks ago (it was on sale on audiomidi or dontcrack, don't remember which one right now...)

The demo was a bit limited, but gave enough (combined with the relatively low price...) to make it a not-too-risky investment, and therefore an almost no-brainer.

Well, I have to say that I don't regret this purchase at all, I'm pleasantly surprised, even though I had not enough time so far to judge it in a mix context.

Anyway, in isolation, a lot of presets are quite good sounding, and to my ears, realistic enough to deserve mention.

Plus, there are enough tweakable settings to go from the subtle to the extreme, and all this makes it an option to really consider IMO.
