I'm at a creative low point. Just did 30 seconds of the worst piece of crap music I've ever done!

I'm off to play God Of War III. Some CGI greek God slaying is necessary for filling up my creative cup

Swarzennegar-esque 'I'll be back'
So, with Krakli and Reaper in wine, I always put their plugins in
/home/username/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Steinberg/VstPlugins.
I add these downloabable .dll files to
/home/username/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32 to add compatibility with Zebra
and other instruments:
gdiplus
mfc42
mfc71
msvcp60
msvcp71
msvcr71
msvcr80
mscvsc60
There are a couple with a 90 ending the name that may also help
(just google download dll to find several websites hosting .dll files)
I have Reaper installed in /home/username
I use various pclinxos versions, wine versions 1.32, 1.35, 1.37
If still no luck, try an older Reaper, 3.06, was excellent.
Krakli RMXL requires the .fxb files to be outside their main folder, and renamed
to confuse synthedit bugs. So experiments pay off.
Cantabile12lite and windows version of EnergyXT2 should also host Stringz2 in wine.
The old sci-fi movie, 'The Terminator' features Arnold Scwarzennegar saying
'I'll be back', often quoted in the U.S.
Cheers
edit: check permissions on all the files/modules so they are read-write enabled. Some
CD burners and file managers screw things up! Even second/third Reaper vst scans can change what is accepted on rare occasions.

Tattiemannie, Stringz(2) is a lot of fun!
On this one, i might have (among other things) done 'humanize' a bit much. Some of the rolls are cool, but i'm not sure how 'natural' they sound.
I didn't find much use for the 'room' section of the controls, but the 'tremelo' section saw a lot of action.
A lot of the controls seemed kind of 'random,' but even a relative neophyte such as myself can create a great number of 'good' tones with it.
At first, i was sad because dwsel didn't choose Basic 64. But, this Stringz is great in its own right. ...and, as usual this contest teaches a lot about working with a 'limited sonic pallette.'

Hi, quick question. I do understand we are only allowed to use sounds from this synth. However, are we allowed to sample sounds from it and then use native host plugins to shape it? Or must it be played directly from the synth?

And one more thing. MAC users excluded here? Plugin Windows only it seems.

No sampling!!!
It's basically a synth programming competition, hence anything that shapes the sound outside the synth itself is not allowed. But I'm sure you can do that with no problem and come up with a great track
(Just please, don't make it too great, I tend to get pissed when I lose
)

Uploading my track right now, the title is Freaks of Nature and it's 46.31 minutes long.
Naaah, relax, it's only 2.56 minutes

Great stuff Mac, cheers for the submission
Anyway, I'm getting fed up making promises on here and not fulfilling them ... I'll catch up sometime, but I've not been able to do that final listen, review, vote thing ( for OSC 14 ) like I thought would be my main priority tonight. I'm freed up now but I think I need to hit the sack ..... should I punish myself or what?
The good news is I have bought the bits I need to get my PC running again ... just got to wait til they're delivered! In a pure bloody minded throw, I've ordered more bits than I need ( including two nearly complete PCs for spares ).... and when it all arives, not only will I be able to replace the essentials, but upgrade the bugger in terms of RAM, and build a slightly better version with what's left over!!!! .. not bad for £70!!
Anyway, I'll go see what I can do re deciding on my votes.
