At me, it does not work as ADSR (((Lunatic_Machinist wrote:if I am not mistaken, this lil' thing has 4 envelopes, look for the gray env button (the middle one) and the following three. there's your adsr, me thinks.

i have no doubt they will(i hope u emailed him). if 1 week before the OSC the cubase bug is still not fixed maybe it's worth having a replacament synth ready (and i think there is one allready).Mac of BIOnighT wrote:That's a truly great synth, but it's still full of bugs... The right channel doesn't make any sound here, not to mention the huge size that prevents anybody with an older screen from using it. It also doesn't seem to appear in some daws etc.tattiemannie wrote: OK, some news .... The Beatsoul has made the decision OSC20 will feature Tal Noisemaker. I tested it last night and it works here ... and a very nice synth indeed
Hopefully most bugs will be sorted out before the osc
about the size.. on my laptop (just a 14" screen with old standard 1024x768 resolution) it still fits...especially if u move taskbar to the side. btw the effects at the bottom are available even individually...so if those don't fit on your setup u not missing anything .
i can use it also on my 800x600 netbook...what's below the envelopes it's surplus really.

The idea of a backup synth is good. That would be easy to pick if there was a vote, and if all was done in good time like 1 comp ahead, things could be tested and vetted.

Dont forget folks, it's a CHALLENGE
Steplton, take it easy ... there's plenty of time
SQ8L is very different, but you will find all the tweaks you need .... it's not an easy synth to tweak, but it's all there
( oh, and if you need to take a break, you might want to flip over to the OSC17 thread and pick a prize

As for the envelopes; they are not ADSR but multistage with many more options then a basic ADSR. It might be interesting to know that SQ8L, like the synth it models, is a very powerful and flexible instrument as it is a virtual modular. You can actually set a large part of the routing of the components ad there are a few very interesting options in there.
Having said that, I obviously can not stay away from this competition

there's no rule against it so i guess it's allowed.crimsonwarlock wrote: Having said that, I obviously can not stay away from this competitionOne question though; is it allowed to enter a 'cover track' ? Because I have an idea that will certainly make this synth shine.
in an OSC what is judged mainly is the ability to use a synth...the sound design and production .....so i personally not see a problem with it.
just credit it as a cover in your txt notes and put (cover) in track title.
that should be fine (but wait confirmation from tattie).

If I go that way I'll credit of course. But what I'm thinking about is SO famous that I don't think I need to point out who to creditolikana wrote:there's no rule against it so i guess it's allowed.crimsonwarlock wrote: Having said that, I obviously can not stay away from this competitionOne question though; is it allowed to enter a 'cover track' ? Also, by a 'cover' I mean a new performance, not using a MIDI-file or doing something 'remix' style. I'm a hands-on kinda guy, as in 'actually playing the boards'

Its cool but covers should not be permitted imo, only your own work.
We are suppose to judge everything not only sound design.Basically when im listen to music i dont really care about sound design i just like it because of melody and it should apply here too but im not the boss here.
