I also voted for noisy weird texture thingy Plug-In because I'd like to see your genius working on a Granulator type of effect, taking your obvious experience with twisting grains around to the next otherworldly level...
Flanger and Chorus are pretty well covered by Uhbik imo

Although this post of mighty sound designer sampleconstruct (I love all the absynth-sounds) makes perfect sense, after buying Valhalla shimmer just today I would have voted for flanger/chorus/delay if that would have been possible. While there are surely great ones out there, uh-bik is expensive (surely worth it), and single releases might offer something, coming from you. There is audiodamage to consider who make such wonderful plugins (did you hear EOS up to now :D, okay, okay...), I didn't hear their chorus and flanger as there is no demo.
But if you would come up with something that would fit sitting besides the superb shimmer-reverb plugin - why not make a grainy plugin for musicians like sampleconstruct and a great chorus, flanger, delay? I'd love that.

Sometimes, from your point of view as developer, I think if users already own a product or two you made, and you would make a somewhat specialised delay, chorus, flanger or whatever and sell it for a price all could afford - say 39$ or something, well, I'm not a manager nor wish I'd be^^ - users would appreciate it and buy the special plugins too, considering it of high value... So a bunch of affordable additions to Valhalla shimmer covering this and that would surely be a great idea. And noisy textures surely too!

i have an idea.
what if your new plugin would have a option to restart precise from a certain point with the selected values, with AND without host synchronization?

Post

I voted for dynamics but what I specifically would hope to see from that vote is a: Multiband Noise Gate

A Noise Gate after a nice long reverb tail can make some great sounds happen. It would compliment your other plugins and can apply to all types of music and musicians.

I voted lush chorus

What do I really want? A serious chorus/flanger/phaser/delay processor. There's no software that can fill this huge void. SDX/SDE-330, DP/4, DP/Pro, those are a few units that have many great, useful, versatile algorithms. I know that to develop just a single high quality algorithm is a huge task. People don't realize how extremely "cost effective" those old hardware units really are. There's no software chorus and flanger effects as good as theirs (and no, the couple of UAD algorithms are lame in comparison, and I know all the other ones y'all know). And I won't even mention RSS-10 and how I wish I could replace it with software, but I just did.

circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

"Digital" plate? Or physical plate?
Or Jeff could try the plate algos you've already created in EOS. :hihi:

I have the Ensoniq DP/2, and the chorus is pretty incredible. I'll check out the other effects. People also speak highly of the PCM70 Chorus, which has an interesting architecture. Plus, there are tons of different ensemble algorithms from string synths of the past. So, yeah, this would be an interesting plugin to work on at some point.

I am so far not satisfied with what is available in chorus/ensemble plugs. My current favorite is Syntorus but it lacks some character to me.

I voted for 'Pitch Shifting things' since I hadda narrow it down ha-ha. But if everything you do is going to be as well received and low cost as the reverbs have been, then you might just as well flip a coin, or better yet do what you want to do the most next and then work your way down the list eh. :)

Just bumpin this to say I'm sure anything Valhalla puts out is going to bad A'd.
I wish I would of picked up Shimmer at the introductry price now that I've demoed it and realize its not just for big halls. Major FSU on Sean programming skills and plugins. uhh thats in a good way.

The introductory price was $50. :D

I'm voting (!!!) not for a lush, but an agressive chorus. thick and 'here', not distant.
one with trapezoid waveforms, superbly decorrelated, always penetrating .. :(
Somehow Eventide pulls this off like no one else.

cheers!

Voted for chorus/ensemble unit.

I'm sure it will be a chorus :D . It's the logical step and there is room in the market for a very advanced chorus plug.

Just in case, if you do, please consider adding some old string machines ensemble algorithm, like the 4 delay lines found on the VP330 and RS505. They are quite difficult to reproduce with the existing plug-ins.
