No need for any artificial noise ... 8)
Ever wondered where the word "chill out" came from ? :hihi:

Somebody had to mention it ...

Seriously, not wanting to downplay anybody's sleeping issues, but as they say, "better lose a friend than a good punch line. " :P
do you know where the phrase "punch :box: line" came from :hihi:

If I understand your point then "Beano"* should change it's slogan from "there will be no gas to there will be no sleep"?

*you know how sometimes on the internet odd little things happen randomly, this was one. I googled on Beano to see if their slogan was on their home page (it wasn't), what I found was a link to University of Gas
earn your Masters of Gas Preventionology

To be totally outright honest the only way i have got used to it is via not sleeping and when i do sleep which is rather rare it is only through medication and pure exhaustion. It does not feel like natural sleep though as it is not really due to medications shutting my brain/mind down and body shutting down out of no choice. Best i get is two hours every couple of nights or four if i am lucky. Sorry i can not help as i need it myself. As said i have tried everything. The best combination seems to be temazepam (Three 10mg tablets) and Nytol (Two of the 'one a night' variety). That is the best i have Hink but if i hit on something differrent i will let you know. I doubt it though since the afforementioned has been in practice for 4 years now (before that it was zopiclone and zolpidem and they just made my mouth taste like metal/strange and helped little)

This is a top-notch product for generating such kind of stuff.
Digital drugs. Apparently the latest thing kids are up to. The authorities are scared and some bright sparks are making loads of money. Got to laugh.

Exactly how loud do you ASSume our sleeping aid background noises to be?

That's the oddest remark I could imagine seeing as a response to the subject.

Along with a plug for a specific brand of gadgets to achieve results totally opposite to the matter.

Well played. I hope you don't get to advice, say, rape victims.

MrHope wrote:Noise during sleep eventually will give you hearing damage if it's too loud for your ears and it's hard to know how loud is too loud because those types of sounds are subtle. It's like sleeping inside a factory with no ear protection... way over OSHA standards of ear protection.

I sleep with earplugs in. Hearos brand earplugs can do something like 34 dB of attenuation which is the max. I can still hear my alarm clock or fire alarms, but everything is much much quieter and moderately quiet sounds I don't hear at all... it works really well. The key is just to make sure you know how to properly put the earplugs in. Follow the instructions on the package.

Peace and good luck.
huh?

seriously, I have worn earplugs a lot...I cannot see them being a sleep aid, but the volume of the white noise should not be loud...that's not the intent, it doesn't drown out other noises by volume. It's literally the same volume as a table fan.
