Just work and i have tried all the other hardware and software gates/suppressors but nothing touches the Boss NS-2 that is available at the moment. Course that may change but it has not for aslong as i can recall. Should be able to find one cheap on ebay used

Hey, make sure you account for VAT in that!!

;)

I also run external noise reduction first and foremost, in my case an ISP Decimator G-String before, to handle all my dirt pedals. Bringing out the big guns before the DI so it has dead silence going in, then if necessary I'll get out G-Gate if the sim itself has self-noise (which is actually a good sign, especially for high gain amps - high gain preamps are freaking noisy, the power supply and preamp tubes DO make noise in the physical world, if a high gain amp sim is dead silent I raise an eyebrow, not that it stops me from using it if it sounds good).
I'm intrigued by the ISP, I like the concept of eliminating noise at the input and at the fx loop :tu:
and now you know, I do have the regular decimator but personal preference has always kept me with the NS-2, Although I've added some extra when needed by using a second DBX 266XL in the FX Loop sometimes I'll use a little bit of the over easy compression but its mainly for the gate section. Got it for very cheap so was happy, This was awhile ago now :)

The gate in AT3 slash works very well/I like and also really like Herbert's prefix a lot when ITB for high-gain guitar stuff :)

If you run OSX and love choppy modern Rock sounds (hipster!) like I do (whoops), then you should give Airwindows' Digital Black gate a spin. A true "Djent Gate".

(Not my video, of course. I'm kinda afraid of posting any of the noise I'm making. :D )

Except, I'm going overdrive pedal --> distortion pedal --> computer. Graphic EQ plugin for shaping, power amp sim for flavor, and then IR cabinet.
Great guitar tone brother, love your sound!

So does Revalver. I've found that Reaper's seems to work better and is more transparent.

The original post was from 2.5 years ago, and the OP never said why he wanted one, just that he was looking for one. It might have been to fit into his workflow.

I just posted saying that I've found Reaper's noisegate to work well with an external pedal coming into the computer.
