I have a new beta ready, with preset save & recall and iPhone support. If anybody is willing to help beta test the iPhone version I'd be happy to compensate you with a promo code.

The version 1.1 update is out today. This not only adds much-requested preset support but is also now a universal app, so you can take MidiMe with you in your pocket.

I really like the new update.. in theory, but the presets don't seem to work for me. I've had no luck in saving or recalling movements. It only recalls which mode I'm in. And exiting the preset menu could be easier, now you have to click on the pads to exit, which will change what you've just recorded.kuniklo wrote:The version 1.1 update is out today. Also, the global pause button is a good feature, but it's not possible to change any settings while in paused mode, which could be handy.
I've tried this both on an iPad 1 and iPhone 4, am I doing something wrong?

I think I need to make this much more clear in the docs, but the current preset system stores only settings, not recorded midi gestures. The idea is that you can quickly pull up settings for Zebra or Absynth, for example, but not that you'd save and playback something like a performance. Without recording quantization it seems to me not so useful to try to save recorded gestures so this is something I'll probably defer until I get a good implementation of quantized recording.
You're right that the current pause mode is pretty crude. It's useful if you want to quickly stop everything but I agree it would be nice to leave most of the other controls active. I'll make this better in the next update.
Thanks for the feedback!

Ok, I see. I do think that saving recorded motions as well would be very good though. If I, say, build a patch in FM8 and carefully set the pads in MidiMe to different parameters, there's often certain gestures that sound cooler than others, and especially combinations of movements in the different pads that makes MidiMe so useful and fun. Sure, quantize would be nice, but saving movements is even more crucial IMO. It would also be nice to have just a basic text feature, so you could save notes with each preset, then you could build up a library of cool movements for your favorite synths, I would really like that!

Yeah. I see what you mean. Let me give it some thought. There might be some interesting ways to approach this.

lovely App, I like the record function.
But honestly, if you are like me an Ableton user, you should use the XY pad , last module with TouchAble APP, this thing kick ass. I just can stop playing with it, so creative!
