It's really great for that price. It's basically where their SSL, API, and V-Series EQ's came from, they're not the best EQ's on their own but to get all that for $48 is stellar.aldrichgo4 wrote:Q-Clone: $48 - has a list of hardware eqs it can model
Perhaps 10 years ago but today?Renaissance EQ: $49 - some people swear by it
There are free EQ's on the same level or better.Audio Track: $18 - basic, but can't beat the price

I'd save up for Pro-Q or Equality, and in the meantime check out these freebies http://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/

I'll second apQulizer. The general workflow of the GUI and feature set is just perfect for me.

Dean... ApEQ, LP10 and EQuality are practically the only EQs I use anymore. I'm a big fan of AirEQ as well but that is well out of budget for this discussion.NEKRO.MACHINE wrote:DDMF are total VFM, high-quality and it is hard to wrong with IIEQPro
ot: being that SV-315mk2 and SV-517mk2 were my go-to compressor and EQ for such a long time, is it any surprise that I like COMPassion and EQuality so much?

I've gotten other good feedback too. Each to his own I guess. Another forum I read a guy say Renaissance EQ is his favorite. I guess it depends on what sounds good to each individual, as was mentioned earlier in this post.NEKRO.MACHINE wrote:I'd take all of them if i needed any Gary. Q-Clone i like stacking up the curves of the various captured EQs which can give great results and the factory captured EQs cover alot of ground. Then have Q-10 for more precise cuts/problem solving. Great duo for the moneyaldrichgo4 wrote:These are some Waves options:

Q-10 paragraphic EQ: $80
You can demo any/all and decide which one works best for you, before you pay a dime. At Waves Universe we sell each one at a small discount.
even if someone does not have an iLok it is a one off painless purchase (to all ye dongle loathers!) :p

Hey Justin mate, How are you? Hope you are well and life is good. Yes i hear you on the transition from Sonalksis SV-315mk2 and SV-517mk2 over to COMPasion and EQuality, It makes perfect sense as they are much more versatile from just looking at them feature wise on the DMG website and the blog with that stuff about COMPassion 'mods' to become almost whatever comp a person may wantjustin3am wrote:NEKRO.MACHINE wrote:aPqualizer is very versatileNEKRO.MACHINE wrote:Ain't tried EQuality but Dave obviously knows what he is doing,Dean... Also it was pretty much you my friend whom mentioned the apulsoft EQ in an old thread about EQs along with Kilroy IIRC before they changed the name and i grabbed the demo and had a license within the next day or so
AirEQ is great i agree and for just the 'Air' boost does magic on most vocals, certain clangy snare drums is splendid, acoustic guitar, clean guitar parts and lifting mid-range distorted bass guitar sounds at around 1khz so they cut well with a clean/DI'd version along with the dirty signal i find in particular it to shine (Air always engaged) but also almost works well on anything. Once i got used to it (didn't take that long at all) it is very fast to work with and the brightness it adds is not over the top or artificial/cheap sounding even when used quite heavily. It is abit on the steep side price wise agree totally but i don't know another EQ with that special effortless capability
All just my humble opinion of course and peoples MMV
Nice one man
Dean
