I'm by no mean expert.
I did that with a few instances of Charlatan (any substractive synth will do) and free plugins from the top 50 on bpb.
Its a wip for a small contest and not dubstep. But i still tried to make a powerful snare.
Since its all layers, i didnt have to compress everything.
The snare contains two noises one very quick and with slight saturation, and a traditionnal tail for the 2nd noise.
I use the simple triangle wave with a note approaching 200hz range (charlatan has no sine)
Add velocities and you get playable drums.
