Too bad the friggin Guitar Rig interface is such a mess.

I see you hate interface from both main guitarampsims-is there any other you like?
I have not big problems here, off course still it can be better.. :D and if I remember correctly all classic analog guitar phasers were mono only...
/sorry for OT.../
Well for guitar stuff both interfaces work decently but when you want to use the plugins for other stuff, like simple insert effects, both become quite cumbersome with multiple instances. Especially Amplitube makes it really difficult to create proper stereo pedal inserts for synth sounds and vocals.

aha...understand you now,...I've never used dedicated guitar fx for synth sound... :)

Try it.. you may like it. :)

Guitar stomp boxes have been used since they were invented for a lot of instruments, not just guitars. Some of those old boxes are incredibly cool on rhodes and synths. Vocals are another prime target. :)

Yea, the Small Stone emu in GR is quite nice, as I recall.

I've looked at GR now and have to say I much prefer that MXR phase90 emu here in GR5...or Bigrock clone for EH SS phaser...

but still...when pushed to limits /intensity to maximum/ I have a strong feeling that all VST phaser emus start to sound thin, digital and...well ugly :(
apart from analog ones-which as I remember started to sound even more interesting, agressive and same time very fat...anybody understand me?...sorry that I dont own original Small stone to make direct comparison...I have only UniVibe at home, which is more like flanger sounding, but they have one thing common-fat sound...

All I can say is I still prefer Melda modulation fx more than imperfect analog-like emus with veeery limited features /no multiband features, not possible to draw my own waveforms,no additional modulators,no radomisers,no envelope followers...etcetc/
Simply put-if I cannot have that analog sound in digital, than I prefer sound which can be more tweakable, more new and more interesting to experiment with... :)

And they are the right price too. A shame. and such a great dev and support and attitude. I wish i LOVED the phaser and flanger.

having every feature imaginable doesn't mean it sounds right (imo). and the melda graphics are very difficult for me to use.

The auto Eq which is the only plugin i have from them, is much nicer to use graphically.
(and a very unique plug in)

as for the waves, the enigma is always one of my most hated effects from them. I actually call it "tin can in a vst", it is SO digital it's nauseating.
agree on waves enigma-simply awfull...you know
(
so i just realised, you were actually *testing* me about waves enigma? :hihi:
only a little :D
becouse I simply forgot how awfull it was-its more than 10 years I got my waves bundle and never used Enigma...and now having Melda budle I think I never need to... :)

ttoz wrote:Ps bmanic sorry i forgot to add we really differ on airwindows stuff. firstly, i won't use them because even though they have NO gui at all so would be a very simple port to 64 bit, Chris refuses to do it. I don't BUY 32 bit plugins any more, i only use some i have that i won't part with. I support devs who are going with the times.

I also detest his complete lack of even the most basic metering.

His phaser would be a one slider thing knowing him..

the other problem is, and i have noticed many people are with me, many against me, i actually when i had a 32 bit system tested almost every plugin and did not like a single one of them SOUND wise.

He really builds his stuff up like the reverb to end all verbs, and i honestly think the verb is so bad is amongst the worst 5 of all time, for example.

Finally, his prices are high IMO.

lastly, overall, i just don't think i'd want to be a customer.

cheers.
Ah indeed. I didn't actually know he doesn't do 64bit plugins. That's a bit silly.

To be honest, I've never had a proper chance to try most of the airwindows plugins but I did hear a lot of sound demos from them and thought they were rather impressive. Then again, most of his stuff are in the subtle enhancer/saturation category and you know I'm a sucker for those! :D

I didn't even know he has a reverb plugin.. and if that one sucks it's possible he doesn't have the experience to build a modulation plugin either. That saturation/console segment requires a completely different listening attitude than reverbs and other more obvious effects.

Oh and I forgot to say that I completely agree with you on the UHBIK stuff. The modulation plugins in that bundle are extremely impressive. I too have considered the bundle several times but just didn't have the cash.. and when I did, that bastard created something else that I wanted even more (Ace and now DIVA!). :x

And then that annoying Sean Costello dude comes along and steals every last penny I have. :P

ttoz wrote:ps melda bundle large download and slow server so before i do, can you confirm for me the phaser does reverse feedback?
yes, feedback can be set positive or negative up to 100% :)

edit-no! Ive looked on flanger..,on phaser it is different-only positive :( -but...you can use 2 bus setup in Cubase /100%wet and 100%dry/ and invert phase of that wet channel...or better is contact Melda-maybe he can build it for you :)

now I have tried...and the difference when phase inverted is not so big as in flanger...but still can be usefull...Ill contact Melda myself...

edit second:now contacted them-Vojtech is on holiday till 22 jan...
