Only composers, that are already in the OSC database! So every track from OSC 1 to OSC 37 (or 38 ;)) will be ok... but it has to be in the database. There would be no way to compare the tracks, if tracks were allowed, that are not in the database!

Yes, composers enhance their own tracks. The tracks should keep the feel and style of their authors!

cheers
Irion's idea about revamping other's tracks it's not to dismiss, let's think to put these as bonus tracks on a compilation (or in a special compilation).

Actually I think what would be really cool would be to choose someone else' tune and every one do a 'remix', for example the winning tune is chosen all who would want to would get the midi files and we could choose our one instrumentation/patches and apply them to the original source midi data. How much fun the results of that could be! And if it sounds remotely like the original maybe it should be disqualified :hihi: This could be the beginning of an open source composition experiment  Also this could be very educational to see someone else' midi data and how they organize their work. One big problem would be how to export to a common format. I know with reaper I can export all the midi data to one file with multiple tracks, don't know about other DAWs.

That's really a good idea, I appreciate the educational point of view (I've learned a lot here at OSC) and the "open source" experiment: a way to go far beyond the "simple" competition.
