There's a wide chasm between habitual pirates and hard working people who support the developers out there. I'm working on the new demo and it will be very lenient. Ultimately I just want people to be happy and I figure that if my software is cool that people will support it. At the same time, I have been very targeted about going after crackers and people who are pirating not just my software, but software made by some of my colleagues like Steven Slate who are doing amazing work and deserve success.

It's definitely going to be more than 7 days. I want people to get a chance to have as much fun with this plugin as I'm having with it in my own productions.hibidy wrote:I think 7 days w/o the sound cutting out is far better than any days with that!
BTW, Have I mentioned how happy I am with this??
Thanks so much for the kind words, it means a lot!

Any ETA on the new demo? If I download the current demo, will it interfere with the new demo once it's ready? Reason I ask is that I took a few days off of work and should be able to get some time to check out Recabinet over the next week.

The new demo will be in version 3.1.1, which has some other minor updates that are still in progress. It should be finished in a couple of weeks. Previous demo installation won't interfere, it will just get overwritten by the new installer.

I immediately bought my upgrade when I got the email about the sale. I think the upgrade was originally $60 and I passed, but at this price it was a no-brainer. Great product and great developer!hibidy wrote:Holy crap, wish I'd gotten this price!

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

So for a non-guitarist like me would Recabinet be the balls to the walls?
I'm currently using TH2 for guitars and using it's built in Cab responses for tweaking. So I'm considering this baby for adding variety as I find the ones in TH2 a bit limiting.
Any sage words of wisdom?
Alternatives?

Words of wisdom? Try the demo?
One thing about recabinet is it FEELS allot better to me even over redwirez stuff. The "eq" section is fab. I frequently like pulling out a bit of low mids and boosting a TAD of the 3-4k range. I also love the HPF, which I usually go to around 40hz. I don't find I need to do anything with the LPF, not fizzy at all with recabinet.
Cabs are very interesting. You CAN mute one side and fine tune but I find it best to know the mics a little bit. The "121" is the darkest. The others have a timbre feel more than anything else. Matching can be tricky and I have no secrets, but the only one I do not like is the blackface. Haven't found it useful for anything yet

You see? That's what I was looking forhibidy wrote:Words of wisdom? Try the demo?
Thanks for the input, I'll be checking the demo later today, I just like to read about stuff beforehand from other people
So the cab selection is pretty varied if I'm reading the manual correctly. Ah redwirez, I remember checking that out before. This however seems like much less hassle as I don't need to mess around with files, importing them in whatnot. Nice to hear the quality is there too
Yeah I like to type too, internet is amazing I tell ya

I don't "dislike" the redwirez stuff, in fact, it's really quite good. I have Sgear and GR5 (which the control room pro uses redwirez) it's just that I get what I perceive as a more (uggggg, I know......cliche) "organic" sound from recabinet...but honestly I don't know what other term to use
I completely moved away from stuff like the AT cabs or GR's standard cabs. Call me snob, but I just don't like the way they sound anymore (especially in a mix)

Yeah the 'virtual' cabs in TH2 or TH1 also left me wanting more. The IR ones are actually good (I think those are actually Recabinet impulses ?) but there isn't enough variety for my taste. Exactly why Recabinet piqued my interest
As I said, this is less hassle than Redwirez, I don't even want to think about importing all those cabs into TH2 or something else, laziness wins
Is there even another alternative like this available? As far as I looked there ain't much.
Which is good, leaves my mind set on what to buy

Well, zero latency, wide variety, tweakable, and responsive. But you be the judge.......check them puppies......get your inner twang on. Yeah. letters moving like a shroom trip here.........not computing...........don't know what to say.........
