Re Marshall Amplification:

;)

I just use a JMP-1, A JCM2000 DSL50 Head & A TSL212 2x12" Combo. I have had alot of others but them two cover almost all my needs, I actually think personally the best one they do at the moment *apart from them really awesome but really overpriced 1 watt mini heads* is the YJM signature head, It doesn't look like a signature head and has alot of well thought out/Implemented features 'round back...The only YJM thing I have ever liked FWIW. Be good to see one of those in the software land :)

All the best to all as always and remember JMP is a good place to be

Dean

Edit: Opps, Forgot both the 9000 series stereo valve pre-amp and tranistor pre-amp rack unit thingies also and a 1936 2x12" which makes the TSL a 4x12" and a ModeFour Series MF400B. I do not just use THE MARSHALL AMPLIFIER though :hihi:

I should clarify, that was not aimed at IK but the marketing scheme so many companies use with "signature" models. I wouldn't pay that much extra if the artist came here, signed it, gave me a month of lessons and took me out for lobsta...for half that cost I can go to a seminar by a great tube amp builder, walk away with a killer amp (Marshall clones, Fender clones etc) and on top of that I could diagnose, service, mod and build amps.

Or I could buy half of a Marshall Slash model with a photo copy of his signature

A fool and his money soon party :hihi:

The AT cannot be compared value wise with that :)

No Hink, they go for a lot because of supply and demand.
There is very little supply, and a lot of demand.
The same goes for the Silver Jubilee.
So much so that Marshall reissued it as the JCM Slash in the first place.
Some of that demand was from Slash himself.

Slash approached Marshall about making some more Silver Jubilees because several of his were destroyed in that famous riot when Axl walked off stage in 1991 at a Guns N' Roses show in St. Louis.

Slash talks about it here around 2 minutes in:

I can't remember if it was uncle or dean that had those clips with the little tinsy tiny marshall heads that gave me wood. THAT would be something I'm interested.

Here's a list of the modeled gear without beating around the bush. I've also included street prices when available.

MXR Smart Gate - $120
Boss DD-3 Digital Delay - $139
MXR Stereo Chorus - $170
MXR Custom Audio Electronics MC-401 Boost/Line Driver - $100
MXR Blue Box (fuzz/2 ocative lower effect) - $70
Dunlop SW-95 Crybaby SLASH Wah - $136

Marshall SLASH AFD100 head - $5,000
Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555 - ????

Marshall 1960AV cab - $1,200
Marshall 1960BV cab - $1,200

All that gear for $80...not too shabby!

The cabinets aren't listed on the http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/slashcs/ page, FYI.
Quite a bit of modeling done on that as well!! :)

I imagine that that it is and heck bro if i were not so far away we could lend each other gear for awhile, Thats always good fun. I'd get to play alot of Mesa, Rivera and other amps that are too pricey over here and you'd get alot of Marshall, Laney, Blackstar and others which are too pricey over there. Dunno why they charge so much extra for a dang voltage thing...Simples

Alas, You too have a good father's day this weekend my friend :tu:

AmpliTube has gotten into the hands of quite a few guitarists over the years, including some very well known ones.
If Slash does it and Marshall is involved, I'd expect a Zakk Wylde AT soon.
I figure you're too late for an authentic Dimebag AT.

I like the idea of more boutique stuff, but there is no money in it so we are left with stuff like $lash.

If we land John Mayer we could get the boutique-iest of them all, his Dumble, I suppose....

Either way, you would have to update for new models anyway, so we'd have to do AmpliTube Blue Öyster Cult, with a "Don't Fear The Reaper (Latency Rounding)" preset?

the main point is that they do not sell for that much because they are that much better than any other amp. Sorry Brian but as I posted in ZCs thread this is just deeply bread into me. Price and value rarely go hand in hand when it comes to such things and as someone who has worked in music retail you will never convince me that having an artist's name on it doesn't sell it for more...I myself have made too much money off of that to be convinced otherwise.

Gear equals status symbols for many people and if it wasn't that way you might not have the job you do, supply and demand plays perfectly into this equation. "Limited editions" whether it be music gear, cars or whatever fetches a higher price, however part of that is also the hope on the buyers end that it appreciate in value because it's a limited edition.

I can use just my own life as an interesting case study of this because I have been through a lot of these phases over my life. Hell when I was a kid starting out (early 70s) electro-harmonix was not so 'in" around here. Among my peers EH was cheap crap. By the 80s there were so many more choices and I have memories of kids buying a Hondo guitar, a Big Muff and a Gorilla amp only to be mocked by many.

It does not matter what company it is, sometimes this is a fail (the Gibson Sonex and the Mosfet Marshalls come to mind quickly) and other times it's the exact opposite. I try not to think about what my 72 black Fender Tele Custom I had for so many years would be worth today

Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Hink, I agree with all of that.
But I would point out that a Silver Jubilee goes for more than the JCM Slash. They are the same amp, but there are fewer Jubilees, and they are nearly a decade older. So older vintage and less supply beats artist signature for demand.

I'd get right on it.

Rather than another artist-based update next... I'd prefer an update that consisted of "whatever the hell the IK team wants to add, alongside fan requests"~ The one after that can be Wilde, Mayer, or Blue Oyster ;)

Or maybe an IK lottery where you guys get together and put your top 5 picks for gear in a hat, then draw about 8 of them to see what to work on. If you can get the boss to agree with that, maybe you can slip in a few extra pieces in secret with that Boss Chorus pedal you want to see added :hihi:

That blue box is still driving me crazy... it's like a little kid with adhd that won't sit down and relax... You just gotta beat it until it stops :x
Ehrm... I mean be patient and show how much you love it until it stops :D

On the other hand, that mxr chorus always behaves no matter what I do.
