What is a heat sink? Is that a cooling system? I feel air blowing out the holes so fans are working.

clean cpu.
don't forget to put a drop of thermal compound like in this video.
install heatsink.
if you can't do it yourself, let somebody else do it for you but don't use the windy intel heat sink, get a good one for your motherboard (socket 1366).
take care of sufficient airflow inside your case, better to have one fan more than less, heat is a killer (as you can see).
finally get a cpu/gpu temp monitoring program like this one.

Maybe your CPU fan died or is running slower that happend to my Coolermaster V8 so I baught a new fan for it. It was running at third of the speed and sometimes stopping.
If an i7 CPU is overheating around 100c it will clock itself down to a much lower Mhz. If it reaches 110c it will turn your computer off.
Install CPUID Monitor and CPU Z these aps will tell you what speed your fans are running at and what temps your CPU cores got to and what Mhz your CPU and Ram is running at.
If it is the fan at fault buy a Noctua fan if they are the same size as whats already in. IF you cant find a compatible fan buy a new CPU cooler. Get one that has a 120mm fan and has a huge heatsink but also fits in your case.
