Predator and Sylenth to me sit in the same kind of space. They are both unique sure and I like both of them (I have Predator RE not the vst) and I use Sylenth a lot more.recursive one wrote:I have Sylenth, Zebra, Saurus, ANA and CM editions of Dune, Curve 2 and Synthmaster for synths (+some other CM and free stuff which i don't use much). Should i bother to demo Predator or it won't bring me anything that is not covered by my current synths? Or probably i'm to look into Massive instead?
Let's talk Predator

Demoed Diva and definitely understood why it's loved so well but decided to pass until i upgrade my system (which is going to happen sooner or later anyway).izonin wrote:IMO the only upgrade to this list of fine instruments would be Diva.recursive one wrote:I have Sylenth, Zebra, Saurus, ANA and CM editions of Dune, Curve 2 and Synthmaster for synths (+some other CM and free stuff which i don't use much). +1. Looks very innocent, but looks are deceiving...

I've used both the VST and RE of Predator. I tend to lean towards the RE, since the latest version has a 40% reduction in memory use and I find working in Reason more pleasurable than Reaper. Also, Papen has a preset program that will convert any VST patches to RE format for free (assuming you have the VST patches). If you tend to work inside Reason and use its strengths (modular routing, CV, etc) then the RE makes complete sense. If you tend to work in Live or Logic or whatever else DAW and just use Reason as a sound source, then the VST might make more sense.

My current track uses it for 1 sound and another tune I'm working on again uses it for 1 sound on the track ...

Hm, if Antidote was available for that price, i'd probably check it out. Not too interested in Predator tbh. What that has to do with this thread? Not much. Thought i'd post it anyway.Numanoid wrote:Interesting price for Predator RE now, only $69![]()

Wow - that's a steal for $69. Essentially you're paying for over 4000+ high quality patch library from a variety of Papen's collaborators, aside from himself. If I didn't already own Predator RE, I'd jump all over that price.Numanoid wrote:Interesting price for Predator RE now, only $69![]()
