But didn't Props say only Reason could avoid crashes?
I love the looks of Bitwig, seems to be nice on the eyes

Any clue if Bitwig Studio will support VST3 ?

Based on per-note-pitch automation as seen on their screenshots (which is a VST3 specification), it *should* support VST3. But I guess we have to wait and see..Muziksculp wrote:Any clue if Bitwig Studio will support VST3 ?

Bitwig just keeps looking better and better with every preview, it almost makes me regret purchasing Live so recently.
If this is competitively priced and has proper PDC (unlike Live) I might just have to make another switch.

Why not enlarge the beta test instead of taking a poll on facebook about which plugs are people's top picks?
been almost a year since they announced the "beta test"
They should state about PDC if they want to help the Live vs bitwig
no purchase until everything goes to usb 3.0 and all hosts are 64 bit!

I think there is more to pricing than just initial cost, FL studio was amazing with free lifetime upgrades, WOW, And the REAPER honor system is a very fair giving system with the free 2.0 versions upgrade, I myself have paid for Reaper even though I have bought Protools 10 as well.
The problem I find tho, is that key features of the industry standards are missing from Reaper, mainly vst3, and as it is such a major task to implement for the developers I have to accept it may not ever be introduced (Not a big deal for some, but some of my most useful plugins utilize this format for their advanced features). So I see why it would maybe benefit me if they would charge a little extra and beef up the features a little.
Maybe a mid point for bitwig of $250 with a fair amount of version upgrades (especially considering the early life of the app, and the possibly short version life) with a maximum 50% upgrade price for later upgrades (again with a few free increment upgrades), Seems very worthwhile to me. That might be enough to keep the Devs keen, and incentive enough to keep outlaying tri-annually? (did I just make a word up? hehe)
I will do my best to get behind this product, Ableton have burnt me with the crash prone Live 8, and it still is crashy, no matter what they try say.
If bitwig is solid, and has sample chop features (Like ableton's slice to midi, which was the only saving grace for v8 to me) Then they will gain a VERY loyal and happy customer.
Fingers crossed here... Eagerly anticipating this one.
Vice.

I realize I have ultimate dick status when it comes to bitwig, so I'll add to it.
TOTALLY uninspired by that viddy. Everything about it is boring, not to mention I can do it in any host I have (except sonar which sucks)
