I wonder if it is possible to buy a couple of copies and give them to friends as a gift. Does Cakewalk allow license transfers?

I consider Rapture to be a work of genius. It is not the most powerful synthesizer, and it lacks some features that I would really like (e.g. freerunning LFO's), but it sounds excellent. Combined with Galbanum Architecture Waveforms, it sounds even better.
The only other SW synthesiser from my modest collection that I use as much is Alchemy.

Once it's registered, no transfers. Until it's been registered it has no licensee.liquidsound wrote:I wonder if it is possible to buy a couple of copies and give them to friends as a gift. Does Cakewalk allow license transfers?

Isn't it bound to your account once you bought it? You also get the serial and activation code sent to the email you registered for your account... not sure if it can be transfered to some other account.

Hm, I didn't buy it on this go-around so I don't know. Best to ask someone at Cakewalk to be sure.
[edit] In fact, I just did. If I get a reply to post here I'll do so, or a Cakewalk support person might drop in on the thread instead.

BTW, a big thanks to Chad and Francesco for the great soundsets!

Thank you Meffy. I'll try to ask as well but I'm sure you'll get an answer before me.Meffy wrote:Hm, I didn't buy it on this go-around so I don't know. Best to ask someone at Cakewalk to be sure.

Yeah but still some don't load. The samples are in the folder, that's why i thought it was 7 issues does seem to be fewer patches though.Chad@PA wrote:Did you install the free expansion pack 1 & 2? My guess is we used some of the new wavetables and samples from that pack.musikmachine wrote:Awesomeness.
Some of the wavs don't load in the twisted oscillators bank though, is that a windows 7 issues?
Yeah the Step Generator and Envelope presets are pretty awesome. Along with the loading in the menus, you can also drag and drop the presets onto the interface. Handy.musikmachine wrote:Also are there any step generator presets or is it best to save the ones you like from the patches? I didn't know you could do this until about 10 minutes ago!
What do you mean drag and drop? I tried from a folder but nothing happened. Guess i should start by rtfm hehe!
Loving the pads for rapture though, some of the best i've heard from something with such a low cpu hit. Synth purchase of teh year.

Everyone remember to get the two expansion packs, which I believe are available in your CW user area, unless they come with the DL now (they didn't when I got Rapture a while ago). I think they are much better banks than the original factory banks.

Just a few hours before your post I've already read all about these soundsets - but unfortunately I haven't enough money any more because I have spent nearly everything for the Black Friday deals...Numanoid wrote:Digital Sound Factory got expansionsTricky-Loops wrote:Could anyone recommend me some good soundsets for it (no matter if free or commercial)?

BTW, it's a great company with good customer service, the Digital Sound Factory, some months ago they had sent me immediately the soundfont version as I couldn't load their Proteus presets in my Proteus VX...

I agree with c_voltage.c_voltage wrote:
If I understand correctly, All Rapture LFO's and Step Generators сan modulate ONLY 5 parameters (for each osc of course): Amplitude,Pitch, Filter Cutoff & Resonance, Panorama.
Oddly enough, I've only recently discovered Rapture for self (with the purchase), but I'm confused.
Why are so varied and advanced modulation is distributed only to those basic parameters?
Why in the modulation matrix No LFO's and Step Generators as a source?
I was disappointed when I opened the modulation matrix and saw the sources
I couldn't believe the list is so limited! I was expecting huge possibilities of modulation using all these LFOs and step generators as sources
Anyway, for only $20 i can't complain
and the fact that still killer sounds can be made with it (especially basses
